We love this area the towns, and villages as well as the beautiful coastline . We have now found the best site, and stayed for 9 nights.Welcomed by Len with lots of information and advice ,as we needed a caravan shop. Just one problem, the road sign on the A35 pointing to turn off ,you can only see from the Bridport side.
No negatives with this site , very quiet no road noise and just the sound of the birds. Fully serviced pitches , and Len always around to help if needed .
We will certainly return to this site when in the area again. What a little Gem.

A lovely find!
We spent 6 days at this CL and it was lovely! Barn House Retreat is set just off the A35 down a little lane, with excellent wide entrance to the site to accommodate long and wide vans! Ours is 8’ wide and 26’ long. There are a couple of passing places on the lane, but it can be difficult if you do meet another vehicle. Luckily we didn’t!
All the pitches are very spacious, being hard standing with a supply of 16amp electric and water to each one. Waste water must be emptied into the provided drain, so do take a container for your dirty water. There is a CDP and recycling bins in a barn area close to the pitches, but not invasive. Awnings can be erected on to the hard standing or grass unless the grass needs to recover from a previous occupants groundsheet!
There is one pitch that is grass and can be used with the owners agreement. Len, the owner, likes to keep the grass green and healthy, and takes pride in offering a very presentable site for all users. He has placed a couple of benches on a grassed slope in front of the pitches so you can admire the views and relax. A nice touch! It really is just like the photos on the website!
Barn House Retreat is 2.5 miles from Bridport where there is a range of shops and supermarkets. Dorchester also offers the same. There are many places of interest to visit around the area and plenty of walks! There is some traffic noise from the A35, but it’s not a deal breaker and certainly didn’t bother us.
This site is a credit to Len & Sandra, and a fantastic CL for CMCH members. We would definitely stay again if visiting the area!

Excellent..
Our only complaint is we could only book 2 nights ! Len is really helpful, the CL is very well kept with each pitch having its own EHU and fresh water. Recycling & waste very clean and organised. Situated in a lovely area with lots to see and do if required. Highly recommended and we will return.
Beautiful CL
We enjoyed four nights on this perfect CL site. It’s kept immaculately by Len with large hard standing spaces, electric and water tap
On each pitch with well kept grass between. We were warmly welcomed by Len, and his dog Jess.
The site is perfectly located for ease of access from the A35 but also for access to some superb cycling. There is an NCN route close by and a relatively flat route into Bridport and west Bay.
Already planning a return trip.

Wonderful tranquil site
We stayed at this wonderful, well-maintained site, for three nights from 19 Oct. Owner, Len, is a very approachable man, willing to help in any way he can.
Site is very well maintained, with a very green recycling system for rubbish.
Our visit coincided, with some awful weather, but we were able to relax in the surroundings.
We will certainly visit this CL again in the near future
Lovely CL
Just got back from 5 very hot days at this lovely CL Site, large hardstanding pitches with EHU and individual water taps. Lots of space between each pitch and grass between the hardstandings. The owner Len is extremely friendly and helpful and makes sure you are happy and the site is well maintained. Easy access off the main A35, just a couple of hundred yards down a country lane and although you can hear a very slight hum of traffic, the site is very quiet and peaceful. Loads to do in the area especially if you like coastal walks, Dorset is exceptionally beautiful. Lovely to meet Len and his border collie, Jess, we had a great time and will be back. Thanks for a great holiday Bev and Terry.

Fabulous site
Absolutely loved this site! The pitches were spacious and very well maintained. The CDP was spotlessly clean and the free wi-fi was a bonus. The site is central to all tourist destinations in the area and the local beaches are a definite must to visit. The owner Len and his canine companion, Jess, were very welcoming and knowledgeable about the local area. We had a very relaxing and peaceful stay here and we will definitely return in the future.

Great CL
We stayed at Barnhouse Retreat this week. What a great site. Peaceful, well designed and extremely well maintained. Greater by Len, who gave use all the information needed.
Good WiFi. Sad to leave, but will definitely book again. I can see this CL becoming a regular visit.
The Perfect CL
The CL is tucked away off the busy A35. We had a lovely welcome from Len who showed us to our pitch. Spacious pitches - hardstanding with an area of close mown grass to one side, so you have good elbow room between you and your neighbour. Drinking water supplied to each pitch. Grey waste water emptying point close by, and an up to the mark Elsan chemical emptying place - not just a hole in the ground. A really well kept and obviously loved CL.
Excellent CL, welcoming and helpful owners and free Wifi a great bonus.
I can only confirm all the very positive reviews to say this is indeed an exemplary CL in every way. It is newly established and much expense and thought has been put into the layout and facilities, which are kept very clean and well organised, especially the toilet emptying point and recycling area. The level hardstandings are very well constructed. Len is very friendly and likes a good conversation, covering many aspects of the area, and was very helpful when we seemed to have a problem with the caravan, which actually corrected itself. Free WiFi was an very much appreciated bonus, still rarely offered on CLs. The location is peaceful, on a quiet lane along which we enjoyed walks to the local village Uploders, and although there is some traffic noise from the A35, its nearness meant very easy access to Bridport, Lyme Regis, Dorchester and Poole during our stay.
Bridport is a fascinating town with many independent shops, while Dorchester occupied us for two days, visiting Hardy's Max Gate and the excellent Dorset Museum. The famous Dorset coast and path is also easily accessible from the site, at Burton Bradstock.
