Ease of arrival/welcome

3 day break

Upon arrival at the marina reception to book in the staff seemed more inerested in running the marina shop than dealing with Caravan Club members. They even forgot to give us a key for the toilet block, which is used by all the staff that work in the marina. You have to pay the full price when booking and it is non refundable if you have to cancell. The CL site was about 200 meters away from the reception, toilet block with one shower (which you need a token for and it seemed tempermental) and the rubbish / waste disposal areas. The site is a grassed sloping open field area which is used by locals and canal boat owners to excercise their dogs off lead. There are lovely walks around the local area including up the towpath to a pub called the Admiral Nelson where you can sit outside by the lock / canal and watch the canal boats pass by (approx 10 - 15 minutes walk from the site). There's a shop, post office, butchers and a couple of pubs in the village which is well worth a visit to see the various types of old buildings (approx 10 minutes walk from the site). We enjoyed our stay and will return in the future.
