Excellent campervan 2 night stay

We booked just a week before as a late decision getaway. We received a quick response to the booking request, clear directions and information provided about the site. Like a few others, we'd looked at other reviews but knowing the area reasonably well we were confident that it would be fine, and it was! The train noise is not particularly intrusive, and wasn't an issue overnight, didn't really notice anything after about 10pm. Yes, the track is bumpy, but stick to the speed limit and it's fine. To be honest, if you can't cope with a bit of a bumpy track then stick to large sites, not CLs. And yes, there's some mud. It's no worse than many sites we've used, and it is a working farm. For me, that's the beauty of CLs, not a huge park of caravans and motorhomes, a bit of rural reality! The facilities were excellent; water, grey waste (not driveover) chemical disposal and refuse all good. The showers / toilets were spotless, very roomy, nice touches such as diffusers, heaters, lots of hanging space, hand dryers. We have a 6m campervan and the space was perfectly adequate, good level hardstanding. We didn't meet the owners, but I don't particularly expect to on a CL. We'd been given the owners' numbers and information about the onsite caretakers so no concerns about contacting someone if we'd needed to. Location wise, excellent. There's the Barn at Beal about a mile away, so easily walkable, or the Lindisfarne Inn a little further. We didn't have our bikes, but with a bike Holy Isle is easily manageable to save having to take the van, or there's the Pilgrim's Way. Will be highly likely to use the site again and have recommended to friends.
