Quiet site

The caravan site is in the field behind the holiday cottages and the barn. It is an unspoilt and undeveloped site in a large field with expansive open views. There is one portaloo cabin. Grey waste disposal is in the hedgerow of your choice.

The electric hook up points are widely spaced along the length of the fence bordering the field so it's a long walk from any pitch to the tap, and even further to the black waste where access is under a metal cover amid the undergrowth in an area unlit at night, but this is the price you pay for widely spaced pitches. You can always avoid dragging your toilet cassette across the field, the yard and into another field by stopping to empty your cassette as you leave the site.

This is not a manicured site, it's a field. There is a hardstanding area available before the entrance to the grass pitches which is used in the winter. There may be flies from the cow field next door. Bring wellies or at least ankle boots for the early morning dew or after rain as the grass is long. Enjoy the wonderful views, the birdsong, the rabbits hopping about in the evening and the quiet, despite the hum of distant motorway traffic.

We come here as the location is very convenient for visits to relatives and shopping at The Trafford Centre. Dunham Massey is nearby for a great day out, as is the National Trust's Quarry Bank Mill at Styal which will keep adults and children alike entertained and informed for a whole day. The caravan site is perfect if you like to chill in what feels like a rural location but which is very near amenities like the local shop and pub whose menu is pricey but delicious. Very conveniently there are eggs and bacon for sale from the friendly and helpful owner.
