A great little CL

We stayed at Burgess Outon farm for a week in August 2012. There may be bigger and better CL's on the network, but in two respects this will not be bettered. Firstly, I don't believe that visitors will receive a warmer welcome anywhere than the one given by Judith and Derek. We arrived in the pouring rain (which continued for the whole week) and Derek was straight out to show us where everything was and offer assistance in setting up. When we ran out of dog food for our Westie he turned up with a bag of his own dogs food, to get us by. They showed us round their lovely holiday cottage and described all the trials and tribulations they went through in it's restoration. After a couple of days we felt as if we had known them both for years. Secondly, the views are unsurpassed. From the Galloway Forest round past the Solway and Cumbria coastline to the Mull of Galloway. It might not be 360 degree views, but 270 degrees isn't bad !! The pitches are laid out in such a way, so that no caravan can spoil the view of the others. There are two water points and the emptying point is clean and well laid out. Another plus point, is that Re-cycling isn't too complicated. We don't go to this part of Dumfries and Galloway very often, and when we do we would usually stay at the club's Garlieston site, but now we have found a much better option in terms of cost and tranquility. As you can probably tell - we really liked it !!!!
