Stayed here for 7nights in June, when we arrived there was no one on reception and no reply to the given phone number , so we proceeded to pitch. Before we could pitch I had to clear dog mess off of the pitch ( it was dog mess and not geese , of which there was plenty , I do know the difference. ) we were on the bottom pitch, the only one available. When I went to pay , the next day , the daughter working on reception said she couldn't take payment and I would have to come back when her parents were present . When I finally caught up with the owner the following day I asked if there was only the 1 water point , he said there was another water point between the last two pitches but it is overgrown , I searched to find it and then used that one. The owners 2 dogs are a nuisance on site , fouling the site which doesn't get cleaned up , 1 motor home user did clear up after the spaniel had messed on the hard standing. We witnessed the spaniel make off with another dogs toy from the next pitch , also all of the caravanners had to shoo the dogs away , especially when sitting outside eating. When booking I asked for confirmation that it was an adult only site , I have an email stating ' yes we are adults only ' but on the back of the toilet door a notice says the site is adults only at the owners discretion, either it is or it is not , if I had known I wouldn't have booked on these terms. ( there were no children on site during our stay ). All of the hard standings had established weeds growing on them. We were on the bottom pitch and this suffered from lots of geese droppings , the top pitches would be cleaner. The facilities on site were good and the grass area's, of which there is a lot , were kept mown. With a bit more T L C this could be a very nice site. Perhaps the owners are too preoccupied with B & B side of their business. We left site feeling we had been an inconvenience.
