Easter break

We had a great 3 day break at this beautiful site ands both Grant & Gillian were extremely helpful. The site is extremely well maintained and has useful information about the surrounding areas to visit. Thank you very much for a great break!

We will come again

Not much that I can add to the other reviews - its lovely here! We also enjoyed the bird feeders around the site and plenty of seed in the shed to refill them - we will be back again on our way up to the Cairngorms to visit our daughter

Quality CL....Just what you look for

Decided to have a break here over the Hogmanay time.. The owners at arrival were very pleasant thanks and were put into pitch 2 with a great view towards the hills....mind you all pitches have a good view... All pitches have their own water supply which is always a bonus... The toilets an showers are all spotless and well kept... A very quiet site and loved being out in the country with no lights at night..looking at the stars was great We went with our 2 Westies and they loved it too you can be sure that this will be a regular visit for us. Our friends were there too..in 3 other pitches and we all had a good time over the "bells"

Great CL Site

We stayed here so we could go and see the Kelpies and the Falkirk wheel, a lovely site and well looked after. Arrivals board as you enter the site with instructions, good pitches and well spaced out each has its own tap and I took the mains adapter for the aqua roll to save having to refill myself. Toilets are clean and Wifi is available, recycling point also which we like to see. Great information shed with a washing machine available to use. Grant came to check we had settled in. Nice and quiet location, we are planning to come back next year.

Such a Pleasant Site

We visited this site on the second week of September and had a rather mixed but generally good bag of weather. On arrival, the owners were out but they have a notice board on which, booked arrivals are directed to their well marked hardstanding pitches. The site is well maintained and each pitch has it's own tap and is only a short walk up the hill to the toilet block. This is a simple but very neatly kept facility. In addition, they have a wooden hut which serves as an information office and there was plenty of literature advertising local places of interest. There is plenty to see and do within a few miles of the site The nearest shops are about 4 miles away and it is not on a bus route so 'own transport' is a must. We will certainly return to this site when visiting Scotland again even if only as a 'stopover' to get to more remote parts of the Country. For those like me, who cannot bear to be 'offline' for too long, you can just get the internet on your mobile phone but it is slow and sporadic. For a modest fee, you can log into the site satellite wifi system which work well although do not expect to be able to 'stream' films! We would recommend this site to anyone who can get about alright. Persons utilising mobility aids may have difficulty due to the nature of the terrain.

Great Stopover Site

We found this site as we were looking for somewhere to stop for a few nights on the way to and back from the Highlands and Carrs Hill was ideal being located just north of Edinburgh. The site itself is well set out and thought out and our name and pitch allocation were already on the board with information leaflet below. All the pitches are well spaced out and really good they all had their own tap! Brilliant! Toilets and shower were spotless and there was even a washing machine installed on site. The site owner was extremely helpful and friendly and couldnt have helped us out more than they did. We didnt get much chance to visit much of the area but spent the main day around loch lomand which is only about 45 minutes away and then visited the stunning Kelpies on the final night (further than you think from the site but worth it!). We will be coming back here in the future for a more extended stay.

Excellent CL

We chose this CL because of the positive reviews and were not disappointed.  This is the best CL we have been on.  The facilities are kept clean with a  ladies and a ladies/gents toilets and separate shower.  The pitches are fairly level and large and because of the layout of the site each pitch are quite private.  Although there are more than the 5 CL vans due to the small private site I didn't have to wait for the shower and the site was mostly full whilst we were there. Recycling is expected and we are more than happy to go with that. Grant and Gillean were always available at the farmhouse and are very friendly.  Small shed with info, washing machine with honesty box and a big box of birdseed for visitors to fill the feeders which are hanging in the trees and shrubs.  We visited Plean Country Park, which is only a 5 minute drive, every day with the dog and that place is a gem, no parking or entrance fees but miles of tracks and lanes and marked walks and dogs can be off lead. Only a 15 minute or so drive to Stirling and excellent motorway access.  Will call in again when in Scotland.  Thanks Grant and Gillian.

Great CL

We stayed at this CL as we wanted to visit the Falkirk Wheel and the Kelpies, it is ideally situated as both are only a short drive away. On arrival a welcome pack is awaiting, the toilets and showers are excellent, the access road is narrow but plenty of passing places if we pass this way again we would certainly return.

One of the best CL's we have stayed on

We do not normally leave reviews when there have been lots already but after reading the negative ones we felt we should comment. We have caravanned for 8 years, mainly Cl's and we wish they were all as good as this one. It is well laid out, lovely views, tidy, clean and the toilets and shower are a real bonus. Not many Cl's provide this and a brand new washing machine. We cannot understand the poor comments, we do not see how anyone could be disappointed.

A Well Kept CL With Friendly Welcome

We stayed at Carr's Hill CL for a week in May 2016.  We were given warm and friendly welcome from Greg.  I have seen the negative comments about this site and wonder what some people expect from a CL.  This was clean tidy and well maintained.  The information hut was full of local guides and there was a washing machine with an honesty box (a real bonus as we were in the middle of an eight week tour).  The showers and toilets were clean.  Each pitch has its own tap and there was plenty of space to erect an awning.  There is great access to dog walks in local woods and there are many attractions, the Falkirk Wheel, The Kelpies and Stirling to name a few.  We are keen walkers and the Ochils were stunning.  We blog our walks at www.twodogsandanawning.co.uk
