Scenic Shropshire

We've just spent a wonderful Easter weekend at this site. Very easy to find, but the lanes very narrow, we found leaving Sunday morning difficult due to the local congregation parking on grass verges in order to attend the Easter Sunday service. Some stressful manoeuvres ensured we got out scratch free. The site itself is very tranquil, the owners very friendly and lots of leaflets available on local walks and places of interest. We did feel a little overlooked, but you could turn your unit so that you looked on to fields rather than neighbouring vans. Excellent EHU and great TV reception. Ludlow is a must, and for real ale lovers, has plenty of very dog friendly pubs selling locally brewed ale. We walked along Carding Mill Valley, which was well worth the £3.60 car parking. Although very busy, we were able to find solitude higher up the valley. The local pub, the plough looks very nice, but does have limited opening hours. We ventured further afield to The Bottle and Glass. Beautiful period building, but the very narrow lanes and high hedgerows made the journey there and back somewhat hazardous. Locals do tend to fly round corners, I wouldn't advise walking on these lanes, especially at night. I would recommend, for anyone who just wants to relax and enjoy the best of the Shropshire countryside.
