Very good value

As other reviewers, we stayed here overnight to break up a longer journey. Also, as said before, the entrance is not the easiest as there is a gate that needs opening and unless you have a very short outfit, you will need to stop on the road to open it. We made the mistake of trying to get through the enticing cattle grid to the right of the gate (fine without a caravan), but were not lined up straight enough so had to manoeuvre back to go through the gate (thank you motor mover!) The (Mrs) owner happened to be passing at this point and was very pleasant, apologising that she needed to keep the gate closed due to the livestock, which was all fine (it's nice to see cows in the field next to your caravan :o) Leaving also requires you to go through the gate and park up on the road. The owner (Mr) asked us on passing if we wanted help with the gate which we declined, but with hindsight we would have been safer to take him up on the offer. Site is huge, one tap, one hole in the ground (elsan point, which was a very tidy job), one bin, and a huge field to pitch up in. We arrived with just one caravan set up for the long term, and pitched in the corner away from them. It made me chuckle that returning from a trip out, there was a caravan and motorhome now near us, then a second motorhome came and pitched in front of the amenities. If we'd been last we'd have gone on the other side of the field from everyone as we enjoy space. Will definitely be considering using again to break up the journey or if we want to stay in the area.
