Simply Gorgeous

Such a rarity nowadays, a simple, laid back little place that oozes character and provides a lovely location for anyone able to cope with a basic site. It had all we needed, giving us a good base of grass over sandy soil, little bit of easy levelling, fresh water, CDP disposal and rubbish removal. It’s up a sandy lane, a slight incline into the sheltered pitching area, which is right under a lovely village church. Plenty of room for 5 outfits, we shared with another small camper, like us, happy to be paying so little (£8) for such a pretty stopover. Quiet overnight, little bit of passing traffic on the road 200 metres away, but it was a delight to sit out and simply enjoy nature all around, and starry skies at night. Easy to book via the phone, there’s no fuss, you pull in and pitch up, and someone calls to collect and pass on as much information as you need. The fees help with the upkeep of the church, and you are free to wander into the church and have a look around. We were told to help ourselves to fruit left over from the harvest festival. We had a good phone signal (Virgin) to tether wifi, there’s an eatery 400 metres away, closest village with a shop is lovely Orford. Plenty to see in area, good walking and cycling. For dog owners, there’s a bridleway along the field edge under the site. A proper back to nature CL, supporting an interesting little church. We wouldn’t hesitate to go back.
