One of the best sites in England

This site is run as all cl's should be run. The welcome is outstanding and the 'shed' with details of attractions is very helpful. There is a lovely wooded walk attaching to the site - great for us dog owners - but all country lovers will appreciate it. I cannot recommend this site highly enough and will return if at all possible. It gets 5 stars as even the mown grass is collected! (other cl owners please note as it makes such a difference)

Fantastic site

Wonderful site. Easy to find and wide spacious areas to pitch on made for a great first impression. Owner contacts you sending information sheet with your pitch number upon booking and this attention to detail is followed up with a little information hut on site with books/maps/board games and even a dog toy! Pitch 1 is beside the woodland walk, which is brilliant for well behaved dogs (ours have a tendency to chase after rabbits and pheasants so after our first excursion we kept them on a lead.....). Pitches 2-5 are on opposite side of field and have lovely views of the Cheviots. The site is really well placed for visiting local areas of interest in Northumberland and is very close to Chillingham castle. The Percy Arms in nearby Chatton village does lovely food but book in advance on weekends as it gets busy. We would definitely return here and highly recommend it to all.

Tranquil site

We have just returned from spending 2 weeks at this gloriously peaceful site. Super views from every pitch. Our pitch was on a very slight slope but mostly level pitches. Plenty of space between pitches and nowhere too far from the facilities. There is a very useful information hut where you will also find home made chutney and jams for sale. I loved the apple and mint jelly. There is a great dog walk through the woods and down a green lane. This site is ideally placed for good walking and visits to places of interest such as Lindisfarne, Bamburgh and Alnwick. We can recomend the boat trips to the Farne Islands too.

The CL not to be missed

If peace, tranquility and countryside are as important to you as they are to us, then this CL should not be passed by without a visit. You can almost hear the silence that is only interrupted by bird song. A short walk from a very interesting castle and within easy reach of so many places to see and enjoy, also makes this a perfect base for exploring. The additional bonus that makes this a 5 star CL (from the point of view of our 20 year CL experience throughout the UK) is the care and interest of the owners (especially Ami) to their visitors needs. This care is confirmed by the amount of current local information that is made available for visitors on this neat, tidy, spacious and natural site, and if you also like shade from the sun, we'd recommend plot 1 by the tree line and woodland walk. Rarely have we spent so much time on site due to its relaxing ambiance, so we will have to stay even longer next time so as to do better justice to the surrounding attractions. We're sure that as this CL is discovered by more members, it may become quite difficult to book a pitch, so we'd recommend making plans early. PS - The only reason we did not give Surroundings and Scenery 5 stars was because we live near the Julian Alps! Laughing
