Pleasant site

Although this site is a small paddock it easily accommodated the 5 caravans.  Fors:  Friendly owner, very helpful and generally around the farm if needed.  The loo and shower are in sepearate building.  Easy access to and from the site.  Free apples.  Not far to walk for water or to sluice. Against:  The A6136 is a very busy road and the road noise was quite bad until about 8pm when it did ease off a fair amount.  Loo was ok but could do with improvement as could the shower.  The bin in the shower was not emptied during our 6 night stay. The sluice is quite smelly.  There were quite a few occupied caravans sited on various areas throughout the farm and these people used the facilities too.  We did enjoy our stay but the road noise is sufficient to stop us visiting this site again.

Everything you Need !

Stayed 1 night as an overnight stop on route to London. Great welcome by friendly owner into a nice tidy small site. Nice views over the farm and beyond. Found it very peaceful. There is also a Tesco and Aldi a short distance away for messages/petrol etc. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Very good site

Stayed a week on this site while my wife walked the middle section of the Coast to Coast. Very friendly owners, lovely shower (£1 a go) and adequate toilet, peacefull location screened by trees from the nearby road and although a working farm it is not intrusive. One small point and that is the overhanging trees need cutting back, as there is an abundance of pigeons living directly above a couple of pitches and my black car turned spotted overnight, and would certainly stain an awning.

Well worth staying though, and made to feel very welcome with an information sheet provided on arrival.

Lovely CL

Agree with all that has been said by other members. We just used this as a stopover but hope to come again for longer. Such nice owners, a quiet, well-tended paddock with far-reaching views, yet Colburn and Catterick Garrison are nearby for takeaways & groceries. Set back from the road and well screened so road noise not a problem. A little gem of a site and excellent value for money.

Quiet, friendly and sheltered

We booked in at this site as we have our caravan serviced at Catterick Caravans and would rather stay here than trundle over from Cumbria first thing in the morning. Now we are happy to return and stay here whenever we are in the area, not just as a convenient stopover. We find the site clean, tidy and well run by friendly people. Note that it is a working farm.

Worry free stay

We found the site very easily, 10 minutes from the A1. On arrival the owner was very friendly and informative. the site is flat, quiet and near to all local shops. the weather was very damp (november)so we parked our car on the farm car park,in summer there would be no problems.   Mr wood the owner asked if we needed a tow when leaving but we managed with motor mover, but it was nice to know we had the facility without worrying how we would get out. this knowledge helped us enjoy our stay at the site. hopefully if we are visiting this area again we would stay at this site again

Lovely site

Visited this site again in July and if anything it was better than ever. The owners are friendly and helpful as was everyone on the site. Handy for Richmond and the dales. Lost count of the number of times we have visited and look forward to our next visit.

What a lovely site

We visited this lovely site in July this year(2014).We were weary of Garrison Road Catterick being to close to the camp,Fear not,This is a beautiful site on a quite working farm. With a equally nice family running it.Toilet is basic but all you need,Never tried the shower but its is big and modern. Both are very clean.Site is quite level and well cared for.We will almost certainly visit again

Surprisingly tranquil and pleasant

Possibly the address - Catterick Garrison - sounds rather a little more rugged and hard edged than caravan club members seek in their quest for a quiet retreat (sorry, bad word choice there). However, we will be returning to Colburn Grange Farm when we next visit this part of Yorkshire, as the atmosphere is tranquil, the views pleasant, the pitches level, the toilet and shower (£1 extra) clean and tidy. Handy for the racecourse, for Catterick Caravans and Ropers if you need somewhere to stay before taking your van in for service. Happily recommended.
