Ideal for the local tourist spots

This is a small CL, the photo reflects accurately, and facilities are easily to hand. A welcome notice board gives you all the information you need and a note on the house door gives more information and a phone number. Access is very easy but be warned that the site signs are not very visible from the road, (the trees have grown since Google Earth street view was taken). Turn immediately after the bollard. Site has a field view on one side only and there are trees on the other three which gives wind protection but limits the sun. We found during the day the site to be noisy, entirely from neighbours going about their normal business. Road noise was minimal. Site’s position is excellent. Bus routes nearby and easy drive to the park and ride. Weekday parking in Winchester is very expensive but free on Sunday.

Ideal layout.

Only stopped for one night. Well laid out, all utilities easily found. Owner very helpful.  This is a working farm, sheep were just behind the CL. We may have been lucky as the sheep seemed to like watching me set up and prepare to leave. We used as a stop off to Wickham Festival. Thank you Jenny.

Great Site for a visit to Winchester

We had an enjoyable 2 night stay in early June '16. Directions from J 11 on M3 were clear, and the welcome warm.  Although slightly smaller than some, this grassed CL has a secluded feel with a special "on-the-farm" character. It is pretty well level, save for certain corners which have a gentle cross-fall. All services are there and work well. To the east there is a pleasant outlook across sheep pasture to countryside beyond. The north and south boundaries are tree lined, and much birdsong can be heard as a result. Access from the B road passes through a cluster of agricultural buildings. The CL being some way back from the road, traffic noise is insubstantial. Bus access to Winchester is excellent - walk towards Twyford for 300 meters, and at the first set of traffic lights turn left into Spring Lane. The relevant bus stop is about 50 meters on the right. Bus number 69 runs hourly. We'd certainly stay again!

Colden Common Farm

As site was flooded had to stay on hard standing next to stables.  Nearer to the road than the field so quite a bit of road noise. Owners friendly. Only stayed for 1 night.

Just what we wanted!

We were looking for a site near Winchester to stay overnight with easy access, water, hook up and emptying facilities. This had it all plus hard standing. Services were immediately adjacent to the Motorhome and the park and ride a short drive away (st Catherine's) had Motorhome bays and only cost £2.50 for the five of us and our dog to go into historic Winchester. Thanks for a great site.

Great site for overnight on the way to ferry

We booked the site via email and had a quick response. The directions to the site were easy to follow. The site was set out well and we were welcomed by other campers who had been on this site many, many times. We never saw the owners as they had taken an opportunity to be away. The site was full and a message was left that this was so. On leaving we just put the money through the door. The only problem we found was that the road was busy with commuter traffic. On the plus side the views were good and it was close to Winchester. We even took the opportunity to visit the caravan shop over the road. We will be back when we are next in that neck of the woods.
