Ease of arrival/welcome

Small, Friendly, Accommodating.

We are just coming to the end of a three week stay, at the tail end of October. On arrival we were greeted by Mr. Gray, who showed us around the site, and advised us where would be most suitable for us to pitch. His advice was spot on, as the heavy rain we experienced didn't affect our stay too much. Though the field is quite small in comparison to some other sites, we never felt cramped on our stay, despite owning a fairly large caravan and awning. I must point out though, if your caravan is 6 metres plus, but without a motor mover, you may find it difficult to pitch comfortably. As a previous reviewer points out, the hard standing area is just outside the field, in a no longer used horse stables. Instead the stables seem used for storage, and there are EHU points provided next to the stable doors. During our stay we've seen this area used comfortably by a number of caravans and motorhomes. The site itself is peaceful with pleasant views, however there is some traffic noise from the fairly busy road that leads to it. On the flip side however, the same road provides easy access to the M3, and also local areas such as Eastleigh, Southampton and Winchester. If you have a dog, turn right out of the site and walk for 200 yards, and you will find a large recreation ground with acres of space. One other final point wort mentioning, is that almost directly opposite the site you will find Winchester Caravans. So you will find more caravan supplies than you can shake a stick at during your stay! All in all its a great little CL that we will definitely make a regular pit stop ourselves.
