Hidden gem

Situated a short walk from the award winning village of Higher Kinnerton. This was our third visit to this site this year and if work commitments didn't get in the way of our caravaning we would have visited more often.A delightful site with its own water and electric and all hard standings. Its a family run site with everyone pitching in to keep this site immaculate. The owners Peter and Alison and family are always on hand to give advice about local ammeneties and days out as well as where to eat locally. It also has a well kept shower and toilet cubicle.A small lake on site if you fancy a bit of fishing.A tranquil site to bring you down to earth after a busy week at work.By far our favourite CL site

A Most Pleasant Stay

We are new to caravanning on CL sites this being only our second  in 5 years. We have been members of the caravan club for 10 years and having a teenage son we always  booked the larger sites and more recently started booking  serviced pitches when available  This week we have discovered CLs and this one has been excellent. It is practically  a serviced pitch with your own water supply and electric point. The waste water  to be tipped into the hedgerow or if we had a long enough hose we could pipe it directly to the hedgerow. The owners were really helpful directing us to where we could walk our dog. They were busy because it is working farm but when they were able to they were happy to talk to you. Yes we could hear the cattle but what do you expect when you use a working farm and they weren't noisey all day just when milking took place. The toilet and shower room have had a fresh lick of paint and were clean and presentable whenever we used them. And all of this for a fantastic £12 per night. My husband and  I are now more likely to be caravanning on our own now the son is 18 and we see this as the way to go.  Thank you Alison and Peter  for showing us how pleasant  it is to use the Cl network. We are now converts !!  Caravanners from Crosby near Liverpool, so it was only a short tow to a really lovely site .

Not quite up to spec!

We didn't see much of the owners as they had young cattle to tend to, but they were friendly enough when we arrived.  The site was VERY muddy but soon dried out. (It wasn't very peaceful at the time we were there as many of the cattle were being kept in the sheds and there was a braying donkey in the next field! Probably the time of year?) My main concern is that the toilet cubicle is rather scruffy (full of cobwebs) and the paintwork much in need of refreshing.  I don't think the hand-basin was cleaned at all during our stay. (Didn't use the shower as one in our caravan more than adequate). Having said this, it was great to have water/electric on each pitch and this is a good location for sightseeing.  To be fair: Maybe we chose the wrong time of year to stay at a site on a working farm as others seem to have enjoyed their stays?

Message from the Club:

Thank you for your review. We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed your time in the area. We regret to hear, however, that you did not feel the quality of the site as up to standard. We would welcome you to contact us directly if you wish to discuss your experience in further detail. We look forward to the opportunity to welcome you back to experience the high standard of service we have become known for.

Sincerely,

Crab Mill Farm CL

Short Break

This is a lovely peaceful site and we were made very welcome. Water and Electric on pitch and excellent shower and toilet facilities. Half a mile walk to lovely public House, The Royal Oak, serving excellent food. just a little further on to village with shop, post office and another Pub. Good cycling area. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return again.

LOVELY SITE

Just returned from staying over the Bank Holiday weekend, the owners are really friendly and the site is lovely and clean. Each pitch has its own water as well as electric, which is a plus, and the shower was nice and clean. We will certainly visit again. Caravanners from Southport

Bank Holiday

Very nice site, near to Chester. arrived and was made very welcome and shown to the site, chose our pitch ourselves. Very clean and well maintained, toilet and shower spotless. Each pitch has its own water and electricity point. The only thing that was a slight problem was the entrance, it is a little tight and could be better signed. All in all a lovely site and shall be visiting again

Heaven

Just got back from the Bank Holiday week end, loved every moment of our stay. Great to have EHU and Own water feed to test out our new Outfit. Will be coming back very very soon. Great location just off the A55.

January Stay

Stayed here for 4 nights, and it was rather wet so the grass pitches could not be used and it was a bit muddy round the hardstand ones, which could do with being a bit wider. Although nor far from the A55 there was very little traffic noise. Easy access to Chester and the nearest supermarket is just a couple of miles away at Broughton. There are a couple of fishing lakes on the farm, around which one can walk one's dog. Each pitch has it's own water supply and there is also a toilet and shower.
