SUPER, QUIET CL, Great scenery -we will be back!!!

This was our first visit to Suffolk and we chose this site after seeing an article in a caravan magazine.

The main CL is well signed and easy to access down a long (bumpy) drive off the main in Aldeburgh Road. The pitching area is large and level, and is protected by a hedge and large trees on two sides of the triangular site. The trees are home to some noisy rooks who cackle loudly throughout the day - but are not a nuisance at night. Otherwise this is a very peaceful and tranquil site.

There is a second pitching area which is again spacious and level - it is a more exposed to the main road and therefore some traffic noise.

The site is within walking (1.25m) distance of Snape Maltings (excellent Farmers Market first saturday of month). The site owner provides details of suggested local walks which visitors can borrow. Much of the surrounding area is flat and the footpaths are on good ground and easily followed. Location of the site is EXCELLENT for visiting nearby places of interest. Southwold, Minsmere RSPB reserve, Sutton Hoo, Flatford Mill, Thorpeness, Dunwich, Aldeburgh and Snape. Good pub in Snape providing very good food. Many excellent tea rooms and cafes in the area for snacks. Public transport passes near to the CL hourly. Provisions for your stay can be bought at several nearby farm shops. Supermarkets are available in Saxmundham (Waitrose / Tesco), Aldeburgh has a Co-op (somewhat expensive!) / Tesco Our visit coincided with some superb weather so we were very lucky. Places to visit on bad weather days are few and far between.

We loved the site and the countryside nearby and will certainly be visiting again in the non-too-distant future. Highly recommended.
