Ease of arrival/welcome

Lovely site but noisy

Mr. Bailey is very welcoming, helpful and charming. Regrettably the prevailing wind is from the south west, which blows all the tyre noise from the A30 to the site. In fairness, if your van windows are shut up the noise is not intrusive, but otherwise we found it to be quite disturbing. Also, in the format in which the site was cordoned off from the main, large, field during our visit, the usable site was a very inconvenient shape, and although the Handbook quotes one acre, there was nowhere near an acre available, especially as there was a large twin axle parked unoccupied at one end.. A fair part of the site is sloping and as a result it was impossible to manoeuvre a van on the car: it would need a mover or be done manually, particularly if the site was full or nearly so. In our opinion, there was really insufficient room for 5 vans, although the presence of motorhomes would improve that as they take up less room and do not have an additional piece of metal to park. I concur with all the other positive comments about this site.
