Best site this year

Having only bought our camper van in March 2021 we have limited experience gained from visiting CL sites in Norfolk, Derbyshire, Kent and Dorset over the spring and summer. However, on a recent visit to Herefordshire it wasn’t hard to choose Crossways as our favourite site this year. Not only is the location extremely quiet and peaceful, surrounded by orchards and fields and with far reaching views to the Black Mountains, there is superb cycling and walking in the area. Mrs Harper and her helper were both a delight. The site is kept very neat and clean as is the super little toilet and shower block. The grass pitches are all well-mown and well-spaced, so you don’t feel overcrowded and there are fresh eggs from the hens who wander freely around the farm and orchards. Although the lane approaching the site is quite narrow it isn't busy. We had no trouble parking our 6m camper van on a slight angle to give us a flat pitch (pitch 5) and though the views weren’t quite as good as I image they would be from pitches 1-3, we didn’t have the worry of approaching our pitch up a grassy slope which I can see could be a problem in the wet or for larger outfits.
