Ease of arrival/welcome

Not a site to be able to walk anywhere from

When we arrived, we were given directions where to park from another camper. We parked as we were told between the bricks. We assumed the person welcoming us and directing us was either a regular camper or a deputy. No he had only arrived the day before and it was his first time staying there! The road is really busy, we thought we would walk along the road to try to find a footpath to walk the dog, after a few minutes we turned around, there is no pavement and the traffic was tearing passed, some without moving out more than a few inches. On returning to the campsite I knocked on the door of the bungalow to ask where we can walk our dog safely. After listening to the site rules for 15 minutes I was given directions to where we could walk our dog. The campsite is advertised as a woodland dog run, I must say the area is far bigger than most dog walking areas on other campsites, but it certainly isn't woodland, it's their horse paddocks with a few trees in. We have a large motorhome, so once we set up we prefer to walk or use local transport. The nearest bus stop is at Hordle 1.5 miles, we weren't prepared to risk our lives walking along the busy road, the traffic noise goes on all night and at weekends. It made it very difficult to sleep. We only ventured out for short walks after 7pm, then the motorists seemed to give us a bit more space to walk along a very dangerous road. The campsite is located very good for The Plough public house and restaurant, it's straight over the road with good pub food and service. It's probably a nice site for people with cars that can drive to places, who are used to heavy traffic at night time, for sleeping. It's located about 2.5 miles from the New Forest, okay if the road was quieter, but too dangerous for us to visit again, we felt trapped on site.
