Peaceful and welcoming

We stayed for one night on our way to Orkney, but would definitely return for longer. As other reviews have said, it is in a very peaceful location, though with easy access. We had horses, sheep and cattle for neighbours. There were also many birds - wagtails, swallows and house martins in abundance. We saw Charlotte soon after arrival. She gave us a friendly welcome, showed us where the facilities were, and explained the route to the nearest beach - 15 minutes walk past their fishing lakes, golf range and across the fields. Beautiful, and totally deserted. Dornoch is less than 2 miles away. We didn’t have time to explore it but saw enough of the beach and village to want to return. Excellent CL with friendly owner in a lovely location. Highly recommended.

Peace and Quiet

We stayed for one night on our way up to do the NC500. The field is well kept and the disposal facilities are very clean. As it is a mile from the nearest town and not on a through road it is extremely quiet. Would definitely visit again when up that way

An excellent CL

One of the best CLs we've stayed at, booked 5 nights online and stayed for 8. Peaceful with good facilities.

Simply fabulous

Davochfin Farm is a welcoming peaceful CL with grass pitches with plenty of space on a working farm. It’s a great base to explore both north and south from Dornoch with some fabulous beaches and walks. We stayed for 4 nights before moving up to the top of Scotland and would not hesitate to return or recommend Davochfin Farm to all. A great CL.

Beautiful and peaceful

We really enjoyed our stay with this friendly family, on their lovely farm. Lovely local walks, lots of wildlife, and walkable to Dornoch. Dornoch is beautiful , with all facilities, and a gorgeous beach. Dun Robin castle is a short drive away, and again, unforgetable. Can't wait to return.

Lovely farm CL

Access - easy enough, single track road with passing places for a short distance beyond Dornoch, or slightly longer and rougher approaching direct from the A9; then a short farm track onto the field. Site - grass field, level and well trimmed no obvious issues with drainage/bogginess, Great views from the site across into bay/estaury. Sheep in adjacent field and hens roam the yard and onto the CL field, fresh eggs available. Being a working farm there is some animal/machinery noise, we iked this, but scored it 4/5 for peace as i know some don't. Pitches - well spaced with easy to reach EHU and a nice neat water and CDP area at the far end of the field. Waste & rmixed recycling bins on site plus a box for bottles (which the site owner has to rake to a a bottle bank, as Scots authorities dont collect glass at the doorstep). Area - very nice with loads of wildlife on Loch Fleet (we saw seals, an otter and ospreys) and surrounding woods, Dornoch is a nice little town with shops, eateries and a nice Chinese takeaway and is under 5 mins drive from the site. Nice walks in adjacent forest, Golspie Burn and falls and Dunrobin Castle is well worth a visit. We arrived when owners were out, but set ourselves up without issue and they came over later to check everything was OK and were very friendly and helpful. There is an issue with their online payment system, in that I couldn't pay the full amount, only the deposit, the owners are trying to get this fixed, otherwise the option to check availability and book/pay is a nice bonus. A lovley CL in a great location that we wouldn't hesitate to return to.

Fabulous site with great hosts

Have just spent four nights on this great CL site, with lambs to watch frolicking in the evening a bonus! Loved the views, the spacious pitches, and easy access to many walks with the dog from the site, and around Dornoch. We enjoyed walking the various forest walks from the site and finding out about the roundhouses, and also taking either the forest or beach walk into Dornoch. Further afield we walked up Dounie Hill and will be back another time for Struie. Had a great meal in the Coach House, and enjoyed the friendly welcome in Cocoa for ourselves and our dog. Delicious Gluten Free White Chocolate and Raspberry Cake in Cocoa, with good coffee. Fabulous views, and apart from a windy and wet 24 hours, had lovely weather. Well done Rob and Emma and we look forward to a return visit.

Stunning views

This is a fabulous cl, with the most stunning views. This is a working farm owned by a young friendly family. We stayed 4 nights, which enabled us to appreciate all the area had to offer. Dornoch was a short walk away, with independent shops and places to eat. We drove through Dornoch and parked close to the beach, which was breathtaking. We were lucky with the weather, but on the occasions when it did rain we were more than happy to sit and take in the view. We would highly recommend this cl, for more than a stopover as there is much to see and do in the area. Meandering Molly 26/07/22 Campervan

Dornoch Stay

Heading north this site is well situated off the main A9 just outside the town of Dornoch. Easy to find and on arrival I called Emma and was told to choose our own pitch. Site is spacious and level with grey waste at back of each pitch. No farm noise when we were there for two nights and sadly didn’t meet the owners who were busy but were quick to respond to a query via email during our stay. Dornoch, Tain and Golspie are all within striking distance as is Dunrobin Castle and all well worth a visit.

Wonderful base to tour

Ditto last review we were there similar time. Lovely couple taken over site making vast improvements since last year we were there. Access easy, pitches generous with electric and grey water at pitch. Working farm so expect a little machinery going about and there are free range eggs to buy. Not far from town itself with lovely shops, cafes and restaurants. Well worth a visit and Tain not to far away for petrol and supermarkets. Walks through wood easy to follow with bridle tracks.
