Best CL Site

We often go up to Yorkshire and we have used this CL for a few years now. We have never been on such a good site. It has hard standing for motorhomes and grass areas as well. They also have toilet facilities which are spotless. The lady who runs it is very sweet and always happy to see you. The site itself is really well looked after and tidy, we can't say enough about this site. We have entered her into the favourite CL site but you can't put why you have entered them and we felt that this site needs a review. We look forward to our next visit.

What a Gem

We arrived at this site 6.30pm quite dark but we managed no problem at all to find this little gem. Neil the owners son came and welcomed us and showed us our pitch , he explained their was a toilet block if required , water and electric was just behind our van, any problems just knock the door. We asked was there somewhere near to eat as we had driven 250 miles from Scotland and he told us about the Farmers Arms about two miles away from site. Next morning when we got up we noticed how peaceful and lovely this CL was, we spent three nights here and can't wait to go back. Roper's Caravans is about 1 mile away the reason we stayed here was to try out our new van before heading back to Scotland. Thank you Pat and Neil Lyn and Tony Kirriemuir Angus Scotland.

first time hear

This is the first time at this site but it won’t be the last time very warm welcome from the owners son he even apologised that the site was looking a bit untidy with all the fallen leaves but what do you expect this time of year (November) 2 toilets on site very clean site is very shaded from the wind as it is surrounded by trees and tall conifers as it was very windy but site was quite came just about every pitch has its own water supply and electric of course I am looking forward to staying there again especially in the warmer time of the year only miner thing is that you can hear a bit of traffic noise from the A1 but it didn’t spoil our time there only one other thing but nothing to do with the site that someone on site was letting their dog walk around off the lead tut tut.

Wonderfull site

One of the nicest sites weve been to well maintained clean and tidy. Neil very helpful on arriving George the handyman was also very helpful when we had to move due to high winds. Really lovely quiet spot we were only booked in for a week but stayed for 11. If going up north this is definately worth a stay plenty of places to visit. Well done Mrs Smith and family.

a hidden gem

Visited here on 30/6/17 to meet up with my daughter and her family. We are inexperienced caravanners but the welcome and help we got on arrival was great. Really put us at ease. When we said we were meeting family we were given pitches next to each other. The owners are really friendly. The site itself is beautiful. Small but each pitch has loads of space so you feel completely unrestricted. Its extremely well maintained and looks stunning. The tall hedge around the area is perfectly trimmed and looks amazing. The grass is like a bowling green and there are fruit trees and planters dotted around. It is so pretty and peaceful you would never believe you were minutes away from a major road with major roadworks. there is a huge field next to the site to exercise our dogs and it is a great location for visiting other places. We only stayed 2 nights but it was so relaxing I wish we'd had longer. Will definitively be back and all this for £11 per night. This has got to be be one of my favourite places. WELL DONE OWNERS!!!!

Top Notch CL

We have just returned after our second visit this year and feel we should leave a review as in our view, its perfect. We have used many CL's, but this has to rate as the best for us. Its a family run site and they obviously take a pride in it as the grass on site is better than my lawn at home, together with flowers and trees. The family, along with George are very friendly and helpful, with a warm greeting on arrival. You can choose where you would like to park, and there are many with the water supply feet away. It is an ideal location for visiting the area, also as a stop over as it is so close to the A1. This is one place we will visit on a regular basis. Anyone trying it will not be disappointed.

A lovely peaceful site

This is a truely wonderful site, very peaceful and quiet with plenty of space so you are never squeezed in even when the site is full. A very friendly welcome when you arrive and you are given your choice of available pitches. There are plenty of shops not far away so shopping is never a problem and Darlington and Northallerton are only a 20 minute or so drive away. There are also some nice places to visit in the area. All in all this is a wonderful site and i would not hesitate to tell anyone to go there for a break. I will be back there soon.

Heavenly retreat

This is a little gem of a beautiful site with toilet and hook up for the princely sum of £11 a night. Have been coming to this site for many years and Mrs Smith and her family are very welcoming as is "George " the warden. Although he is not really a warden he helps out when visiting, he is a fellow caravanner like us. The high tree hedge makes this site very peaceful. It's proximity to the A1 makes access very easy (despite roadworks at present) and is near to Northallerton and Richmond. Despite the negative reviews (I think they are harsh!) I would highly recommend a visit here a proper little sun trap and I'm sure you will not be disappointed. Had a fabulous bank holiday weekend here with family and friends.

Lovely site in a beautiful part of Yorkshire

We have stayed here several times and always enjoyed the tranquillity of this delightful site. On this last occasion our arrival at the site was very much delayed due to A1 night closure but Mrs Smith was could not have been more helpful arranging for someone to see us in at this late time of night! Mrs Smith and her family have always been extremely helpful and this makes for a very enjoyable stay.
