Loved this place, little gem

From the moment we arrived we relaxed. Mark was an excellent host. Extremely helpful and welcoming. This was one of the best sites we have visited in the last 2 years of owning a motorhome. We have a young puppy so lots of lovely walks from the site. We kept him on a lead or tether at all times. Our last day there were 3 families arrived and parked up together. They had 3 dogs and 2 young children between them, 1 being a young pup. None of the dogs were on leads or tethered, they were allowed to run around, therefore the owners did not watch to see where they were pooing. Consequently we got up on the day we left and there was dog poo around our van. Just hope Mark didn't think it was us as we cleaned up after our pup constantly. Can't believe people are so lazy and irresponsible as the site was immaculate. We will be returning though, we loved it. Jayne and Tony

Peaceful site

Stayed for 5 nights. Nice site, peaceful and next to river Avon. Taps close to pitch, chemical disposal, bit of a walk. Fairly priced. Electricity not metered. Warden was very friendly. There is a road behind the site but not too busy. You cannot walk any where from the site as the road has no foot paths. Enjoyed our stay although weather not that good.

3 Night Stay

We are a family of 4, children ages 8 & 11 and one 1 dog. We've just returned from a 3 night break and had a really enjoyable stay. The site is situated on the banks of the River Avon and and pitches are well spaced out each with EHU. There is a road which backs onto the site however it's not busy with very few cars especially at night. Mark the warden is very helpful and special thanks for returning to the site when I required some gas. The area is great for walking cycling and Bidford on Avon s a short walk along public footpaths. The Bidford on Avon Flying school has a small cafe and is great place to watch the small planes and gliders coming and going on a sunny day. This was our second stay here and we will be returning, which is all I need to say. Happy Caravanning.

Peaceful tranquil site

Peaceful riverside site on the banks of the Avon. Mark was extremely helpful, giving lots of information about the local area. Lovely walk along the river into Bidford. We will definitely return.

6 night stay

Just returned from a 6 night stay. Loved the site. Extremely peaceful and very pleasant surroundings. Lovely to sit out and relax. Also great for access to the surrounding area. Bidford is on the doorstep, with nice facilities. Wifi is a bit flaky tbh - sometimes you get it, sometimes you don't. Elsan point, water and rubbish all of good standard. Mark, the warden, is extremely helpful and relaxed and maintains the site very well. The only downside was that you need to walk along a short section of road, in both directions, to walk from the site. It's a shame that you can't walk off the site without having to walk on a busy road. We would definitely return.

Lovely place to stay

Stayed here for a week-end break. Booking was easy via text messaging and arriving rather late we were left with the pitch nearest the entrance. There were adequate hook up points nearby which appeared fairly new, and a single fresh water point. The site was quiet , peaceful and clean and within a 20 min walk to Bidford-on-Avon. There was a slipway on site which you could use if you wanted to canoe or kayak ( you need to have a licence for the Avon), There is a Heart of England walk nearby which was interesting, and it was only 6 miles to Stratford-on-Avon. Mark came to have a chat the next morning, welcome us and tell us where the site facilities were. There was some road noise , but nothing too disturbing. and we had a very enjoyable stay. There is free wi-fi but we found it to be intermittant and unreliable. Overall one of the better sites.

Very enjoyable stay

We enjoyed chatting to the other CL users and looking at the boats on the canal. Not a site for peace and quiet but still very restful. Water, rubbish and chemical emptying all fine. This area does flood, so it is probably not a winter site, but it was lovely in the summer. Plenty of free standing trees to give shade. Site nice and clean, friendly welcome.

Disappointed

The site was fairly pleasant right near the river Avon we booked by email and arrived on the Saturday afternoon with 4 other caravans on the site we were left with a pitch right at the end fortunately for us we had read another members review and had carried two hook up leads with us. We never saw the CL owner until the Monday fortunately one of the other members on site showed us where everything was and gave us the wi fi password no signs on the drinking water tap the site was relatively quiet over the weekend but got very noisy on the road behind us from early Monday morning with people travelling to work and continued throughout the week with the morning travel to work. There was always a lot of coming and going with the boat owners and their friends that were moored there and as another member said some showing no regard for the speed limit on site also one boat owner allowed his Staffie to roam the site off the lead and urinate on our water barrel also deficating around the site. we never felt very secure on the site as a lot of coming and going day and night then unfortunately on the Tuesday a large swing shovel digger and tractor and trailer arrived and started working on the bank side less than 20 meters from our pitch which soon became very noisy and as one boat owner told us was planned to take about two weeks. We had booked to stay till the Sunday but the noise got to us and we decided to move on we left early on Thursday afternoon however the site owner chose to deduct Thursday nights site fee from us and stated that he was quite within his rights to charge us for the whole stay that we had booked. It would have been nice if he had informed us of the planned works when we booked the week before I emailed him later that day and stated that we were disappointed that he had taken this course and that by not charging us for the Thursday night would have made some compensation for the noise he replied back with a apology and offered us 2 or 3 nights free on our next visit needless to say we will not be returning.

disapointed,

The reason I only ticked 2 for arrival, was because the bridge you came over was closed, so you had to follow diversion. The site was pleasant, but fairly basic. The entrance was narrow.care required on entry and moving off pitch. If you wanted peace dont go to this site, as there was road noise at the back of you and cars going to and from the moorings.Shame really because nice area but will not be back

Excellent CL

I can only endorse the other reviews. Site booked by email with good communication. Access from Bidford is over a narrow one-way bridge over the Avon which has some score marks on the stone but is wide enough for a caravan.  We were the 5th van so had little choice in pitch but the remaining space was fine. It's a good job we have 2 hook-up cables as one would not have reached. The facilities are fine for us, water, toilet disposal and bins (general waste and recycle able waste).  Yes, the road behind is close and audible bunt it's not at all busy.  Perhaps only slight downside - at least for us in autumn season - was a rather annoying swan that seems to prefer grass to water. With dogs, and perhaps young children, this was a little annoying.  But overall 5* with one deducted for peace and quiet.
