Ideal site to recharge your batteries.

Just returned from a much-needed week here: an ideal haven for peace and tranquility. Amazing views, fantastic location, woken each morning by the bleating of lambs and bird song. Superb facilities: fully serviced, WIFI included, no extra charge for awnings or dogs. Very warm welcome from Anne, who was always happy to stop for a chat. We will definitely return.

Smashing site and the warmest of welcomes!

Throughout our 4 day stay with our two dogs, Ann was super helpful and a genuinely lovely lady. The site is in a perfect spot with great facilities, clean and well managed. Watching the darling little baa lambs gamboling about was a delight I'd never tire of. Ann was calling to an owl one evening and it was hooting back - so wonderful. One morning a deer jumped into the meadow and there are so many birds. We stayed bank holiday weekend and expected the area to be very busy but it was perfect and there's so many beautiful places to visit nearby if you like nature and tranquility. Make sure you watch the sensational sunsets from the top of the moor up the road - blissful!

Peaceful stay

We have had 2 wonderful nights at this very peaceful site. You could not ask for a warmer welcome from Anne. The pitches are well spaced level and very spacious..the views are lovely and there are many local walks. Pubs near by serve good food. All pitches are serviced . There is one toilet and shower with bags of hot water. We will definitely be returning!

Peaceful haven

I spent 2 nights at this lovely peaceful site. Good pitch with own water tap and drain and beautiful view over the fells. Spotlessly clean facilities. The roads in and out are narrow but as far as I can see that is normal for rural sites! Friendly and helpful hosts. I will return.

Disappointing

After reading the previous reviews our expectations were quite high. The views and location were lovely however the facilities let this CL down. For £25 pn we won't be staying again. The toilet and shower were very shabby and although looked clean on the surface I wasn't comfortable using them. Pitch 3 is not fit for purpose as everytime it rains the whole of the site drains to this pitch and gets muddy and floods. The pitches are all serviced but pitch 3 and 4 need a very very long grey waste pipe to the drain. Ours wasn't long enough 6m so we couldn't use it. As I said for £25pn I expect facilities to be better. The approach is quite narrow in places especially through the village of West Bradford. Luckily we didn't meet anything coming the other way !

Wonderful break

We received a wonderful warm welcome from Ann. Open countryside views. Even though it rained........... a lot ! It did not dampen our spirits, we donned our waterproofs and headed out. Beautiful scenery and walks from the site and we enjoyed returning and getting cosy in our motorhome. Great all year round site, thank you Ann.

Great relaxing location in these times of county lockdown

If you have a larger caravan or motor home getting to this site might, looking at a map appear challenging but in reality there are plenty of passing places. The long hedged drive to the site has again good passing places. Site outlook has amazing views of Pendle Hill in all weathers. Site is well presented each pitch fully serviced, it’s well managed and maintained. Owners always on hand to assist with any problems and much local knowledge and advice with many stories to tell. If you like walking then you have choices nearby the fells, the woods or the riverbanks and if you enjoy nature this location is definitely for you. Clitheroe is a few minutes away for provisions required and much to see and do. We loved it and will hopefully revisit soon, government restrictions permitting. Stay well, stay safe.

Perfect retreat

Drake House Farm was the perfect retreat and base to explore the AMAZING Forest of Bowland. The site was incredibly peaceful with good facilities and great views. We have a large tag axle motorhome and a small car in tow, whilst the approach to the site was a little narrow at times, generally, with a bit of patience and care, it was well worth the effort. Lovely owners and highly recommend this CL.

Blissful peace and quiet

Had a wonderful stay on this lovely little CL in Lancashire, a part of the world we don’t know at all (we’ve crossed over from Yorkshire, shhhh, don’t tell....!!) Great view of Pendle Hill (no witches spotted yet.... 🧹), a warm friendly welcome from Ann, red deer spotted on the drive, toilet and shower if you so wish, water tap and EHU on every pitch and blissful peace and quiet. Can’t recommend highly enough - we are sure to be back. — at Drake House Farm CL
