Best gettaway

If you are looking to get away from the rat race then look no further. This site is just so quiet and peaceful. Great place to recharge your batteries. Views across to Pendle hill are amazing. The facilities are clean, warm and functional. All the pitches are hard standing and reasonably level, with a good space between each pitch. Ann is very welcoming to all her visitors.

Great CL

This is the first time we visited this CL...but it won't be the last. Great for walking and great for walks with the dog. Ann keeps the site is good condition and is very friendly. The directions are spot on but the last couple of roads are a bit narrow, Take it slow and you will be OK. Each pitch has water and waste point but you will need a long hose to get your waste to the drainage point. The toilet and shower were clean and tidy. Wi-Fi is available and there is a mobile phone signal on the site. There are plenty of places to eat out and I would particularly recommend the Assheton Arms in Downham Village approx 10 mins drive away. Alreay looking forward to our next visit. Thanks Ann

A REAL GEM!

This is a truly wonderful site. The owner is very friendly and chatty, making you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. The pitches are fully services which is a bonus. You do need to take care with a longer unit on the approach road but with care it was not a problem. The site is well drained and has all hard standing pitches which is a bonus after the last few months. Thoroughly recommended. We will return.

Great CL

I would have given 5 stars for all aspects of this site, but you really need to take care on the approach through West Bradford if you have a long outfit. If you meet no oncoming traffic it would be OK, but we were unlucky and met 3 lorries on the way in. Leaving was fine though - just take care on the bends and the bridge. Ann was very welcoming and helpful when we pitched up. This is a great CL. It rained a lot whilst we were there, but as has been said the pitches drained very well, so although other areas were flooded we had no standing water. The pitches are very spacious, and there is lots of room between them - it would have been great to sit out and relax in the sunshine! There are lovely views over towards Pendle Hill, and great walks all around - if a little boggy this week because of the weather. It's well worth walking down to the 3 Millstones - a lovely pub/restaurant. Also worth a visit to Pendle Antiques Centre at Sabden - lovely scenery getting there. If you have time, also visit Slaidburn. This little village isn''t mentioned in the leaflets - but it was great. Cobbled pavements all still in place, and the local pub, Hark to Bounty was excellent. For those of you who like gardening - don't miss Holden Clough Nursery near Bolton By Bowland - lovely views and an excellent display of plants. I bought some crocosmia Bowland Gold there, to help remember a lovely week at an excellent CL. Highly recommended.

Fantastic for walkers.

Nice CL. We had mega heavy rain, but the hard standing pitches drained very well. The pitches are full service, so if you pay for the ballcock and hose for your Aqua Roll, you don't need to refill which is mega relaxing. However, for waste water, for the same principle on our pitch (number 3), you would need about 10 meters of waste hose. But That is the maximum distance at any pitch to move your waste Hog. CCEP is outdoors, but within easy reach for all pitches. All pitches seemed easy to get level, and there is a toilet, shower, basin, and information room all in the same block. It is all unisex, but the water is warm, and it is clean. However the site is exposed, and open all year, but there is no heating. The view of Pendle Hill from the site is lovely, especially as trees have been planted to 'hide' Castle Cement works. We had a nice afternoon, when it didn't rain, so we walked into Waddington, a lovely village less than two miles away, and ate at the Waddington Arms. It serves fabulous food and drink, and you can take your dogs in too! The whole area around the site is fantastic for walks, and some of it is classed as area of outstanding natural beauty. The walk in Gisburn Forest at Stocks reservoir, is fantastic! It is all 'hard trail' for cycling, so even though there was rain heavy enough for local flooding and full watercourses all over, there was no mud! For directions, on the website follow the last bit relating to following the Three Rivers Caravan Park signs, but REALLY DON'T MISS THE TURNING INTO THE SITE! The site is on rural farming land, but the sheep are charming, rather than being a problem. WiFi is available on site at £1.00 per day. I would gladly return here.

heavenly site- fabulous venue

Anyone contemplating a visit should check out Anne's website for a taster...Everything you expect of a serviced site at a very fair price. So many extras and so much attention to detail- Anne offers a haven for peace lovers..so tranquil and quiet with stunning views and only minutes from Clitheroe. A walkers paradise with many local walks so dont need to move the car. A toilet and free shower block offer a personal touch with a hive of information and white boards covered in high praise from previous vanners... So much to mention...but to be honest just book and arrive - you will not be dissappointed..we are going back- as many do..Thanks Anne- keep up the good work and see you again soon
