Great CL

I would have given 5 stars for all aspects of this site, but you really need to take care on the approach through West Bradford if you have a long outfit. If you meet no oncoming traffic it would be OK, but we were unlucky and met 3 lorries on the way in. Leaving was fine though - just take care on the bends and the bridge. Ann was very welcoming and helpful when we pitched up. This is a great CL. It rained a lot whilst we were there, but as has been said the pitches drained very well, so although other areas were flooded we had no standing water. The pitches are very spacious, and there is lots of room between them - it would have been great to sit out and relax in the sunshine! There are lovely views over towards Pendle Hill, and great walks all around - if a little boggy this week because of the weather. It's well worth walking down to the 3 Millstones - a lovely pub/restaurant. Also worth a visit to Pendle Antiques Centre at Sabden - lovely scenery getting there. If you have time, also visit Slaidburn. This little village isn''t mentioned in the leaflets - but it was great. Cobbled pavements all still in place, and the local pub, Hark to Bounty was excellent. For those of you who like gardening - don't miss Holden Clough Nursery near Bolton By Bowland - lovely views and an excellent display of plants. I bought some crocosmia Bowland Gold there, to help remember a lovely week at an excellent CL. Highly recommended.
