We've been trying to go this CL for some time but lack of availability and Covid conspired against us until recently when were able to book 4 nights. Well it was most certainly worth the wait! The site is fantastic, very quiet with wonderful views towards Pendle Hill and the luxury of fully serviced pitches. Ann is a wonderful host, very welcoming and always ready to chat and to offer help. The surrounding area offers a lot - Clitheroe is a great little town with supermarkets and a lot of independent shops. The castle is a bit of a climb but offers great views towards the Forest of Bowland which is on the doorstep and is a beautiful area. A climb up Pendle Hill is not for the faint hearted but the views from the top are stunning and makes it worth the effort. This site is only 1.5 hours or so from us with most of the journey on motorways, dual carriageways and A roads. The last few miles are on country roads & lanes - narrow in places but nothing daunting... Ann took the trouble to ring us a day or so before we were due to leave to advise us of the temporary road closure on the obvious route from the A59 to West Bradford and to tell us of the alternatives which was really thoughtful and made the journey there that much easier. It's not hard to see why the vast majority of reviews are so positive and complimentary - I think you'd have to be very picky to find anything negative about Ann and her lovely CL. We'll be back first opportunity we get - many thanks Ann!
