Just the ticket
We have now been to this site for over 10 years for our main holiday. Our unit is a caravan and car so we day trip. As said the site is basic but that’s what you expect from a CL which is why we like it so much. We go for the setting, quietness and views looking down over Bona Bridge, Midge dale and the Dornoch Firth. One year we spotted wild otters feeding in the river just outside of Bona Bridge from the road and plenty of local wild life. The owners are very friendly and will advise on the local area and also sell some home-made produce from their door way. At night you get some of the best star filled skies with very little or no light pollution. It is an ideal place to tour most of northern Scotland as the roads are so good; many times, we have had supper on the far North West coast and been back on site in an hour or so. The dog loves it too as you will find no end of very good walks for all standards many well marked, we have found many that are wheelchair friendly as we have a mobility scooter or just visit one of the forests which have walker’s welcome signs. The local services are very good with many big supermarkets set up in and around Tain. If you travel around there are plenty of good hotels and restaurants to eat at locally or further afield serving all tastes.
