Perfect!

Lovely CL, warm welcome and easy access. Good TV reception and a decent 02 mobile signal for those of us that require such things. Road behind the site is a bit nosiy but on the other hand means the site is easily accessible. Neat, tidy and well liad out. Perfect!

Handy for Edinburgh

Well laid out cl with well cut grass and flower pots, every where is neat and tidy, dogs are well catered for with walks around the fields. The downside is the road, which is busy and fast. There is easy access to Edinburgh via train at Drem station 3 miles , free parking and 20 minutes to Waverley station fare £9 off peak return for two . North Berwick is not far and a super little seaside town, with safe bathing for kids.  .

Excellent CL but traffic noise

You can see why this CL has won so many awards: easy access, well laid out, extremely well maintained etc. Pros: all pitches enjoy open views across the fields to North Berwick Law (hill) in the distance. All pitches are hard standing and large enough for caravan and awning or car, but not all three at the same time so something has to go on the grass. We parked car and caravan on hardstanding and awning on grass because that is what we prefer, but the owners prefer awnings on hardstands. Extremely well maintained with the tidiest water and waste points I’ve ever seen: both on their own decked area. Owners strim the edges, trim hedges etc. The owners have mowed paths around the perimeters of two fields creating walks of 1 mile around one field and 1.4 miles around another. The second field includes an elevated wooded area with decking and views which guests are permitted to picnic at. CL has an information hut similar to those found in Club sites but includes a few other items eg BBQ for guests. Cons: caravans back onto B1377 which is a busy road. The speed of the traffic wafted our awning despite the tall/thick hedge between us and the road. But despite the traffic noise we will be using this CL again. And if you can’t do with the noise then you can move to the small site that the owners run. This is separated from the CL by a field and is further from the road, but nearer the main Edinburgh to London railway. The CL is very well placed for exploring Edinburgh and East Lothian. The National Museum of Flight almost adjoins the CL: it has a Concorde and is well worth a visit. If you are going into Edinburgh then do consider the train. Trains leave Drem station (3 miles from CL) every hour (times in info hut). Return is £6.80 (2014), parking free. Also consider the PlusBus add-on for £3 which gives you free travel on Edinburgh service buses and trams (normally £1.50 per any length single journey). The beaches at Dunbar and Gullane are worth a visit.

Well maintained CL

The welcome I received was good. The area of the CL is well cut grass and the facilities (water, grey waste disposal, chemical toilet disposal, dustbins and information hut) are neat. There is some flower planting. There are mown paths for walks around the farm's fields -- great for dogs. The view over the countryside towards the (invisible) Firth of Forth is pleasant without being stunning. The hardstandings are reasonably level. The only drawback is the noise from the road. Only a narrow verge and a hedge separate it from the hardstandings. It is not a busy road but cars and some large vehicles travel at some speed causing noise and vibration to the caravan.

Immaculate CL

Very well maintained site with excellent views over open countryside. Friendly welcome and good hard standings, handy fresh water taps and waste disposal points. No toilet block or showers but not a problem. Although the site is very pleasant the road noise was very noticeable as the road passes close to the site and was quite busy at times. The main railway line is about a quarter of a mile away but the noise was not an issue. However, during our weekend stay the local motor racing track was in use from about 9.00am which was noisy, especially if you were outside.

LOVELY CL, But......

Stayed here recently on our Scottish tour. Superb site, beautifully maintained. Excellent walks around the farm. Warm welcome from Jane & her family. The "But...." was the road noise from about 0630am. There were some other road closures in the area and this may have exacerbated the amount of passing traffic during our stay. The speed of some cars passing only a few feet from the caravans was worrying and quite annoying at times. Next time, would probably stay on their other site which is behind the farm & further from the road.

Wow!!

Definateley a "must visit" site whether for a short stay or for several days. The site is immaculate. It had been recently cut when we arrived but there were no grass cuttings lying around. The welcome was unrivalled. Our 2 year old grand-daughter was allowed to visit the hens and the two pet pigs. She also watched the lambs being tagged. To top it off - fresh eggs. We'll be back.

Don't tell anyone!!

This is a wee gem of a CL with easy access for even the larger outfits like ours. The owners are lovely and very helpful friendly and welcoming. The site itself are grass pitches with fresh water, grey water and chemical toilet and motorhome chemical toilet removal superb walks for the family and dogs (dog friendly site) Very close to the holiday town of North Berwick with all the usual amienities shops etc also close to Haddington which is a larger town with bigger shops . Edinburgh itself is only a short car journey away and I would use this wee gem as a quiet alternative to the city site

Excellent CL

Excellent CL run by a very friendly and helpful family. Lovely walks created around the farm with plenty to see. If you are during the lambing time ( Dec to April) newly borns can be seen in the barn.  Site is ideal for numerous beaches and golf courses and one we will visit again.

Immaculate!

Stunning site, maintained to a very high standard - everything from signage to grass. Nice views across farmland and well mown walks around owners fields for the dog. Friendly helpful owners, and lots to see and do in surrounding area. We hope to return soon.
