A Little Gem

A little Gem Though we are relatively new to caravanning we have been campers all our lives, young third generation. This site ranks as one of the very best we have stayed on over our many years of camping. The toilet and shower facilities are excellent, very clean and well kept. The pitches are all level and have good drainage. A wide variety of attractions nearby. Skipwith Common less than a mile to the south supports a wide variety of wildlife with a small lake at its centre and has well marked routes through the woods for walkers. The Trans Pennine cycle trail, which provides a safe cycle route all the way to York, runs 2 - 3 miles to the west of the site and is accessible via a pleasant ride through Skipwith Common to Ricall. There are a selection of very good pub restaurants within a few miles of the site. An excellent Thai Restaurant in nearby Escrick and a highly recommended Indian Restaurant in Ricall.  Special mention for the owners, who run the site like a well oiled machine. Nothing has been too much trouble, accommodating us at short notice when we had to bring forward our first stay (we have been back twice since) due to a family crisis, laying on a nature trail and an impromptu Haloween Trail for our grand children on two subsequent visits, not sure who enjoyed these the most the kids or us and the list goes on. It really is a little gem of a site, great location, lots of nearby attractions, tranquil and relaxing and run by genuine heart warming people.
