Disappointed

We wouldn’t normally pay more than £22/n for a CL without adjoining site with showers toilets and it was in an area we hadn’t tried and realised the area and Goodwood seem to warrant higher prices and I concluded I suppose you pay for what you get. How disappointing. Long, uncut grass, not heard of a strimmer round the edges and 4ft high thistles at the entrance. Then morning “ablutions”…. No toilet paper or hand towels. Oh and the music coming from the £42/ night camp site across the way! So to sum up disappointing and not worth £37/ night, I would have rather stayed at a club site….. NOT! Signing out …… CL limited facilities Snob😎

Lovely CL Site at Easter

The site has 2 small fields, one with some hard standing pitches if I remember correctly and the second field is grass with nice views overlooking fields etc. We were in the further field, which in my opinion was nicer. We saw the deer most mornings. The day we arrived there had recently been a lot of rainfall and Peter called us that morning to enquire what sort of vehicle we had as the field was rather boggy. When we arrived we ended up getting towed in as we got stuck around the gate area between the two fields. In places the field was less boggy and we, and our friends, soon set up. There were a couple of issues with the electrics tripping. I believe recently Peter had an electrician do some work on the hook ups which wasn’t quite right. Lots of places to visit nearby. We went to Chichester, Bosham, Emsworth, Selsey and Petworth House. The site offers toilet and shower facilities - though we use our own. I did pop in the toilet and it was clean and spacious. We had an awful lot of rain Sunday night and the following day the field was extremely boggy. We need assistance getting the caravans out, though we did manage to get the car out without issue. Nobody can predict the weather and Peter was very helpful in assisting us - and others. I believe he is already planning on trying to solve one of the problem areas between the two fields.

Absolutely tip-top!

August 2021 A fantastic little site with loads of space so you don’t feel like you’re in a housing estate but free in the fields! Wonderfully organised and so so clean. The shower and toilets smelt amazing! A pleasure to use rather than an unpleasant experience. Even emptying the cassette toilet was better here as it was a flushing system with space to place and tilt the cassette right next to it. Peter was a really welcoming and helpful owner that helped us out even though we interrupted his dinner. Thanks so much. Can’t wait to return!! P.s. The Anchor pub just a few minutes up the road is definitely worth a visit. Really friendly staff and delicious food.

A Lovely Place

We stopped here for 6 nights in April 2021. This was our second visit to the site and found it just as lovely as we previously did. Peter and Hayley (the new owners) are lovely, friendly people, this is a new venture for them and they are doing a great job. The CL is separated from the other part of the site by a fence and bushes. There are only 11 pitches in total though so it’s not crowded at all. The pitches are huge with plenty of space between and plenty of space for kids to play safely. There are some tremendous walks right on the doorstep, you are literally 20 metres away from a footpath which leads out over fields from which you can walk all the way down to Chichester Mariner, perfect for dogs. There is a small herd of deer that graze the fields and can be spotted most days. Unfortunately the pub over the road was closed when we visited, it is being renovated and will, I’m informed be opening shortly. It was nice to see kids having a good time, they had their bikes with them and had a bit of a zoom around most days. They didn’t bother us at all, they were a nice family. We plan on going back towards the end of June and personally, I can’t wait! Thanks Peter and Hayley, keep up the good work. I’ll bring more beer next time :o)

Excellent CL

Stayed here in our motorhome for a one night stopover while visiting family in Selsey. This is a great little CL - spacious, peaceful, secure (padlocked gate), clean and well maintained. Friendly welcome on arrival. We paid a bit more than we are used to for a CL (£23/night) but we cannot fault the quality of the place and, with loos and a shower, water tap on the pitch and access to a chemical waste point, it goes way beyond what many CLs provide. We would have no hesitation at all about staying here again and for longer.  The site combines a MH&CC CL and a small 'other section' which is not members only.  We were in the 'other bit' as the CL was full when we booked, though I am using the term CL in this review

Excellent site, beautifully maintained, spotless!

We stayed on the site for one night whilst visiting relatives. We walked from the site to the Anchor Pub (along a foot path just a 10 minute walk) where we met up with our relatives for lunch, really easy. The site is one of the best maintained and cleanest that we have ever stayed in. Lovely atmosphere with a mixture of families and couples staying. Some with dogs but all well controlled. The site is surrounded with country side and access to footpaths for walking. Although it is located off of a busy road into Selsey the noise of the traffic was minimal. Will definitely return there can't recommend it enough!!

A Must Visit CL.

Visited this delightful CL for 5 days. The site is large and well kept and a credit to the owners, It is in a very good location for visiting Chichester, The Witterings, South Downs, Bognor and many other well known West Sussex locations. Al and Isabel are very friendly and helpful hosts. Having experienced a problem with my jockey wheel, Al contacted a mobile caravan engineer who attended the site and repaired the problem. Many thanks Al. This is an ideal site for those seeking relaxation and situated to explore West Sussex, I would recommend this site.

Amazing hospitality

Absolutely fabulous welcome and continued assistance from Al and Isobel. The site is perfectly located for all that Selsey, Chichester and the surrounding areas have to offer (beaches, golf, bird watching, history, shopping). The toilets and showers were spotless with lovely little touches(lavender scented spray as an example). The five pitches set aside for CC&MH members are thoughtfully arranged around a semicircle so you look out over fields rather than into your neighbours pitch. They are also furthest away from the road. The only tiniest of criticisms we could have is a lack of a washing up area but we solved this, after hosting them for dinner, by sending the dishes to the mother in laws to put in her dishwasher. This really is nit picking though as the hosts at this site, the facilities and location are great and we will definitely return.

A very well maintained CL

A very well maintained and run site, with extensive facilities for a CL. The new toilet and washroom is excellent and sparkling clean, and although I found the chemical toilet disposal point a little awkward to use, it, too, was clean and sparkling. The hosts were very helpful and the location is great but the road running past the site is busy for a lot of the day - we noticed this as we live in a normally quiet rural environment. The pub across the road, the Anchor, is certainly very convenient but it is a chain and the menu is a little unexciting. Would I come back here again though? Certainly.
