Great site and marvellous hosts

Firs Cottage was a great find for a frosty weekend away in our motorhome. Brian could not have been more helpful in explaining the site facilities and access to local places. We borrowed a local OS map from the information room, and ramps (which stupidly I had left behind) and spent a few days exploring the immediate area. We particularly liked Much Wenlock with its abbey ruins and dog (and mud)-friendly cafe on the main street (Tea Junction) - walked there directly from the site up the bridleway. As it states on the CL description, you cannot walk onto Wenlock Edge from the site without a difficult walk along the B road with fast traffic but the National Trust (free) car parks are not far away from the site and there is no height restriction at the Much Wenlock one. Brian explained that discussions are on-going about getting walking access to the edge from the site. Great to have a personal tap! And owls! Many thanks.

Thanks for your review. I have been working with some volunteers attached to the National Trust to open up another footpath through the old quarry at the top of our lane. This should be open by the end 2019.It will open up a few more circular walks and add to the already excellent walking from the site. Other talks are ongoing to get a further footpath opened up straight on to Wenlock Edge with no need to walk along roads. We are hoping that this will be happening sometime in 2020.

We look forward to seeing you back.

Beast regards
