Fantastic CL

This is a lovely CL, previous reviews say it all really. Hardstandings are well spaced out. Toilet very clean. Incredible views and really friendly owners. We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area.

Perfect

Wonderful peaceful site with nicely laid out spacious pitches. Well positioned for local places of interest and dog wlaking. We walked to Brimham Rocks, about 1.5 miles each way, which is well worth a visit, as is Pateley Bridge for a walk along the Nidd and to the old sweet shop. We went up to Scar House reservoir, another nice walk, but an absolute must is Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Garden. Magnificent. The weather was not kind, cold, gales, rain, snow and a spot of sunshine as we left, but this did not detract from such a beautiful area and such a lovely site. We rarely return to places but we would make an exception here.

Outstanding

Cannot praise this site enough. Lovely welcome from the owner Val who straight away gave us local information re walks/ cycle routes. The site is immaculate and although part sloping we managed to get level with the help of the wooden blocks provided, the tap on each pitch is an added bonus, as is the toilet. The walks and cycle rides direct from the site are amazing, however I did manage to get lost on the first day and John , ( Val's husband ) drove my husband around the area to look for me which was very kind. This site is top of our list for return and would not hesitate in recommending it to anyone looking for a peaceful / active stay.

Stunning site.

We received a lovely warm welcome from Val the owner who gave us a choice of pitches. The scenery is matched by the peace and quiet, just wonderful. We watched hares and a barn owl from the window of our caravan. Lots to do nearby.

Unfortunately an uncomfortable stay

We have just stayed at this CL for 4 nights. Unfortunately the electrics kept tripping out. We were unable to use any other appliances if we had the electric heating on. We have never had this happen before on any other CL. We ended up using a lot of gas which made it an expensive few days. As stated in the previous reviews it is a very well kept site, unfortunately due the electric problems we will not be returning.

Views to die for!

I wasn't sure about this site as it is located down narrow roads, but locals seem aware of caravans moving along it, we met a tractor and trailer on the way in, driver just pulled in to a field entrance and waved us on. Site is up on the hills with views to the East, could see cooling towers on the horizon, presumably Ferrybridge , but not sure. There is a choice of hard standings and one grass pitch, all have slight slopes, electric and water for each. Plenty of space between pitches.Owners are approachable and will give ideas of what to see in the area. Fairly close to Harrogate which we wanted to visit and also Harlow Carr Gardens. Lots of places to visit but will have to go back again to do them justice.

Perfect

I would like to give a bad review to keep this site a secret, but it's too good. We have been several times and it just gets better. Location: a couple of miles from Pateley Bridge with the National Trust Brigham Rocks just a mile away, plenty of great walking with both Ripon and Skipton not far away. Site: located on a previous farm, with the owners cottage and a lovely holiday cottage at the edge of the field. The grass is manicured to perfection, I wish my lawn was half as good, 4 out of 5 pitches are now hard standing withe last to be converted shortly, all with 10 amp hook up which is more than enough, each with its own water supply no need to keep refilling aqua rolls if you have a kit. The pitches have a very slight slope but the owners supply plenty of wooden chocks on each pitch. Great TV signal and modern Internet signal, we are Vodafone so others may be better. On a clear day the views seem to go on for ever. The site is so peaceful and quiet and the owners are so helpful and friendly. Beautiful site, great location, well go back many times.

Superb Stay

We have just spent a week at this CL. The owners weren’t in when we arrived but had left us a lovely welcoming note telling us which pitches we could choose from and of course we picked the best one! We had a wonderful view of a wildflower/grass meadow which was harvested during our stay. This provided evening entertainment(we didn’t bother setting up the tv during our stay because we enjoyed the views so much!) just watching the different steps in harvesting silage. The CL has hard standing pitches giving plenty of room with large grassy areas to use as well;each pitch has it’s own tap,the elsan point is centrally located and the toilet is spotless. We enjoyed our stay so much that we are already talking about coming back next year.

A First Class Well Maintained CL.

A first class CL that is obviously carefully maintained. The photos don't really do it justice as it is now mainly hard standings. It does slope a little but there is an adequate supply of timber blocks should they be needed. The electric is only 10 amps so care is needed when using appliances. The description states that this CL is next to Brimham Rocks. This is not quite correct, they are about one mile away but this is to the advantage of CL users as the rocks (NT) get a lot of visitors. Unfortunately the nearest pub (the Flying Dutchman in Summer Bridge) has closed down but the Royal Oak in nearby Dacre Bank is very good for a meal. All in all a very enjoyable stay for 7 nights.
