My favourite CL

I love going to this CL. Always made to feel welcome. Site is always immaculate and well maintained. The hedges provide an excellent wind break for the "windier" days. Excellent location for walkers in the local area with the canal and the sea front on your doorstep plus the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales are less than an hour away. Cycling locally is fantastic with hills or flat bits to suit all levels. As previously stated there are trains nearby but they have never bothered me and I'm a light sleeper!. Plenty of good restaurants on your doorstep (Chinese (Jimmy's), Indian (Far Pavillion) and Italian (Mia Italia) - all tested and very good) within a 1 mile radius plus supermarkets (Tesco, Sainsbury, Morrisons and Asda) within 5 miles radius. Locally there is a Londis and Spar within a mile drive.

First time on a cl

We decided to go away at the last minute and always go on club sites but being bank holiday they where all fully booked. We are so glad they were! A warm and friendly welcome greeted us on our arrival. The pitches well marked and level, and an individual flagged area adjacent, this was my only gripe as I was unable to peg down my porch awning. The near by railway line was not as noisy as I expected, A short walk to the shore and our dogs where free to explore. The lane was single track for the last 400yds but with passing places not a problem. lastly the free range eggs.I had forgotten what an egg should taste like. Thankyou we will definitely come back.

Lovely CL

We do not usually stay on CLs - preferring the security of main sites, but after our short stay at Freshfields we will certainly be back.  Peaceful and within easy access of local attractions and only a short walk to the shore and local coffee shop. Don't worry about reports of train noise.  It really is across the fields and you do not notice it after the first couple of trains have passed. Friendly hosts and very tasty free range eggs! We will certainly be re-visiting.

Lovely CL site

This stay was our first  ever caravan experience & we will be returning. We were made very welcome, the site is immaculate in beautiful coastal & countryside surroundings & easy access from the motorway. Yes, the trains go by, but as previously mentioned in other reviews the noise fades away after the first few have passed by. We stayed for 6 nights & did not want to leave.  Thank you Mrs McDougall for a lovely stay.

Enjoyable Stay

Stayed here 2nd weekend in August 2014, nice site, very near the coast, nice walks and close to places to visit, nice canal walk or cycle from nearby Bolton le Sands, owners nice and friendly, will be returning one day.

Lovely CL

Just had a 3 night stay at this delightful CL. It is immaculately kept, very quiet, and really well sheltered from the onshore breezes courtesy of the aftermath of Hurricane Bertha! Very close to the coast with some lovely walks and very convenient for Morecambe and Lancaster. You can hear the trains but only the first couple then they fade into the background.

Well worth the visit.

Two night stay on 2&3 May, after a 20yr break from caravaning. What a lovely CL to reintroduce us to the joys of it. Very freindly and well maintained site. Easy access to Morecambe and Carnforth, with good walks around the area. Morecambe Bay shore within 200yds of CL, with nice Cafe (Archers). Trains did not bother us, infact did not hear them at all during evening/night. Will certainly visit again.

Bijou site

quite a bijou site, and anticipate that if it had all large caravans, with awnings and large tow cars it would seem rather cramped. The owners are very welcoming and the pitches well marked, with well manicured lawns. We were not quite expecting as many dogs on site, with 4 other units having 6 dogs between them and a couple were rather noisy. But as we were either out walking or mountain biking it was no big deal (apart from the 8 o'clock early morning call of dogs anxious for their walk). Superb position close to the estuary, along a narrow road with passing points. The trains were every 10 minutes or so but prove not to be any distraction, in fact quite fascinating!....and yes we would go back!
