A Yorkshire Gem

We first visited this CL last year and vowed then that we would try and stay here at least once a year. It is one of the best CL's that we have ever stayed on and the owners are really helpful and friendly. Access is easy; pitches all hard standing; fabulous views towards Ingleborough and glorious walking in around Clapham with the rest of the Dales a short drive away. Community run shop in Clapham is great and shows what can be achieved - use it or lose it.

One of the best

This is one of the best 5 CL's I have stayed in (out of about 60). The site is well set out and maintained, good facilities all relatively close to the vans. the site is not the biggest but is well set out for the space. The toilet facilities are a little away in 'the barn', however on finding them they are some of the best I have found on a CL and cleaned regularly. There were some cobwebs like many CL toilets, but the bulk of these disappear over the week - little details that count. The TV reception is very poor (sometimes an advantage), a comment to the owner about forgetting our extension cable and not seeing the weather forecast led to a lending of a cable. Don't wait they'll be happy to lend. As for the view, Ingleborough overlooks the site, however remember this is Yorkshire and the view is not guaranteed - we did discover that the site did drain well! As for walking, there is much nearby, best enjoyed off the beaten tracks. This is a prime example why CL's are often best.

Really lovely, peaceful site with stunning views. This CL is extremely well kept and tidy. The toilet is spotless. Owners are very welcoming and there is plenty of room to manoeuvre larger outfits. We will definitely be returning!!

Such a lovely CL

We payed our first visit to Giffords farm CL for a few days respite after picking it from the photos/ google earth and reports and it surpassed all my expectations. You can see and appreciate all the hard work that the family have done to get it to this standard. Lovely views good facilities and pleasant owners. We will definately return and include a rail trip to either Skipton or Morcambe at I believe £11.50 return to the land of ERIC Morcambe.

EXCELLENT CL -SUPERB SCENERY

This is a truly EXCELLENT CL. The owner's are very welcoming, happy to advise on local places of interest and things to do. They even arranged for an extensive range of weather for our visit! Snow, hail, mist, rain and even sunshine!! The site has six generous hard standing pitches each with tv aerial point. Water and recycling are close at hand. Site WC  and toilet emptying point are in the nearby open sided  barn. Pitches have excellent views across to Ingleborough - you may be tempted (like us) to go and climb it! It's quite a challenge but worth the effort - honest! Clapham train station (Morecombe line) is also in view. This would be very useful for those wishing to travel by train. The line is not busy (no overnight trains) and does not disturb the tranquility of the site. Good mobile signal o2. Game Cock Inn in nearby Austwick provides excellent food - but do ring to book it gets VERY busy. The location of the site is excellent for the many walks in the area (Yorkshire Dales and Vale of Bowland)  including  the Three Peaks - Penyghent,Whernside and Ingleborough)  We stayed for two weeks! Enjoyed every minute of our stay AND we will be back!! May see you there!!

A Very Nice CL in a very Nice Place

Just back from a weekend at Giffords. Warm welcome from the owners. CL well laid out and very clean. Nice views from the pitch and nearby. We went with friends and had a evening meal at the The Coach House in Bentham , that was nice. We had good weather which is always a benefit. Will be back . Lots to do in the surrounding area. This was our 2nd weekend here . Recommended

A True Yorkshire Gem

This was our first visit to Giffords and it certainly won't be our last. What a fabulous CL and a real credit to the owners. Level hardstanding pitches all capable of taking a car, caravan and awning. Beautiful views across to Ingleborough and plenty of walking straight out of the site. A short drive gets you further afield with the Yorkshire Dales to the North and the Forest of Bowland to the South. Take a look at Stocks Reservoir which offers beautiful scenery. You could always catch the train at Clapham Station and head off towards Lancaster or Skipton. Markets at Settle, Hawes and other local towns. Good mobile signal on EE. Highly recommended at £12 per night plus £1 for an awning.
