Overnight stay

Spent 1 night here on our way elsewhere. The site is ideally located for ease of getting in and out except the gateways are a little narrow for the 8ft caravans. A bit of extra care is needed to negotiate them. You have to go up a long farm track that was quite muddy due to it raining heavily and sprayed the van front with mud. Rain is always expected in the lakes. Although the pitches were hard standing the grass was long so as soon as you stepped out of the car everything was wet through so wellies required at all times. You can’t reverse your van onto the pitch either as the van needs to face forward if you want to use it as a serviced pitch due to the location of the tap and grey waste. I’m sure if the weather is nice and dry then the site would justify more stars. Although the weather not the fault of the site owners it is just the mud and more mud that is very off putting when the weather is pants.
