Disgusting facilities

First time at this site, no one to welcome us, just a notice telling up what time someone would be in the house.2 dogs running unsupervised on site, not good for me as am not a dog lover. Shower and W C just Portaloos. My husband went in loo and said he had never smelt anything so bad. Perhaps people not sure how to 'flush', handle mechanism. When he emptied our cassette, he was very nearly sick with the dreadful smell which came up when the cap was opened, and he is not a squeamish person. I had to postpone dinner, as he couldn't face eating for a while. The steps up to it aren't too clever either, accident waiting to happen. He didn't use it again, we took it home with us!! We are disappointed that the Caravan Club could pass this as good enough to warrant CL status. The site is in a very good location, close to main road so that we could easily access the places we wanted to visit. However, the grass good do with mowing, quite wet on damp Autumn mornings. This could be a very pleasant site, if not for the facilities, which are not up to 21st century standards. We nearly always stay on CL's and have never come across this sort of thing before. We intend to come to this part of the country again, but will choose another CL
