Sssshhh, don't tell anyone!
I nearly dismissed this as there were no reviews or photos of the site when I was searching in this area. As the first review for Hammonds Green Farm, I hope to convey how great this clean and tidy site is! I have stayed there for the last 5 days, during some heavy wind and rain storms (and also sunshine!), and there were no access issues to the field, caravan didn’t get bogged in, I didn’t need wellies to get to the toilet and hardstanding is also provided nearby for car parking. The site hosts, Graham, his father John and family were really friendly and welcoming and we will definitely be returning here. Facilities were excellent - exclusive female and gent toilet and electric shower (yes, shower) facilities are offered and are of a very good standard, well thought out with nice touches eg, heated towel rail in the shower, quality handwash. An extra feature of a covered washing up station with sink gives an open air camping feel, which I used as an occasional change to washing up in the van. Spacious pitches, most with own water point, overlooking the large pond (with ducks and geese and herons) and summerhouse (which has seating and a gas bbq). Fresh eggs available from onsite hens, lovely. Horses in the field, rabbits hopping about etc….Decent pubs nearby, Hare and Hounds pub in walking distance with Blackboys PH couple of miles away, Uckfield offers good choice of supermarkets, restaurants, cinema etc, appears to be good footpath networks too. To ensure a balanced review, the only downside that I can comment on is that the site is close to a country road and some general traffic noise can be heard at times… a small item and it shouldn’t detract from the peaceful location. I am really pleased to have found this and only fair to Graham as site owner and CC members to share this review, but I did want to keep it to myself! Happy visiting - leave my pitch free though 😊
