Bit of an odd site

First of all the good points! The owner seemed very welcoming on the phone, and access is very easy. Shugborough (NT) is VERY close, you could walk there (we were cycling). The views are lovely, across the fields and woods near the farmhouse. Sadly a number of bad points appeared during our stay (May 2013). The Cl is in clear view of a busy road, and traffic noise is an issue except late at night. A very busy train line runs close to the site, in a deep cutting, and both the noise and vibration (very odd) was a problem for me, even very early in the morning (5am). The grass was quite long but nevertheless had been cut and dropped some time earlier, so carried into the van badly. And then a very odd thing. There are no rubbish bins, and on going up to the house after a 3 night stay, the owner refused to take household waste of any form! We were away for 3 weeks, so this left us with quite a problem, were we expected to dump the rubbish elsewhere?! Sadly this spoiled our visit here.
