Ease of arrival/welcome

Lovely welcome and great facilities

Stayed here for a week in June. Site had lovely views down over open countryside, a male/female toilet and the best free shower I have had on a CL, plus the added bonus of free WIFI so we could watch Netflix films, borrow books or help yourself to fresh herbs. There was even a baby owl in the tree behind our caravan which we went out and saw at night. Lovely welcome on arrival with the option to set up on a few pitches and an information folder. We timed our arrival with 'National Scone Day' so were treated to one of Suzanne's fabulous cream teas and bought one of her yummy fresh loaves of sourdough bread. During our stay the weather was not at its best so we did have to take down our awning (high winds) and unfortunately any goundsheets including breathable ones are not allowed. We cycled down and around Siblyback Lake (the cafe does an awesome vegan breakfast), visited various NT properties (Cothele, Antony, Lanhydrock), walked along the river from the site to Golitha Falls, Port Issac (Doc Martin fame), Padstow (Rick Stein fish and chips), Looe and the banjo pier, Wadebridge (Camel Trail free parking at Borough Arms Dunmere) and Minions and the standing stones. We can see why the site is so popular and would return for some more of the fabulous scones and hopefully better weather.
