A Lovely Spot for an Away from it All Break

We were the first visitor here following lockdown, and we loved it. The site is a large grassy meadow with mature trees behind and open views to moorland beyond. A visit to the historic Hermitage Castle is an easy walk away. the site has three fresh water taps and a chemical waste and grey water disposal point. There is no cellphone access here, which some will regard as a blessing, but if you feel the need, a short walk of 300 meters or so will bring you within range. Here are a couple of tips which you may find useful: There is a sharp turn off the main road across a narrow bridge to enter the farm. When towing a caravan, this is easier coming from the South where an adjacent layby allows a swing to the right before the left turn. Check it out on Google maps first. Motorhomes will have no trouble from either direction. There is an adjacent sheep farm and depending on the time of year you may find some of the Scottish midgies around, so come prepared with fly repellent and sprays. Emma is a delighful host, very friendly and helpful. She has plans for further enhancement which may include some electrical power points in the future.
