Ease of arrival/welcome

Decent site overall

We were anxious about the possible state of the ground in the light of other reports here and the fact that we’d had 4 days of constant heavy rain immediately prior to arrival. We needn’t have worried, yes the grass was a tad long (you can’t mow sodden grass) and a little soft underfoot especially at the lower part of the site. With a 4x4 we had no problem getting on or off. Good views from the higher pitches. The only issue with the site is the fact that there aren’t individual EHU trips so if anything goes amiss (which it did) the main consumer unit throws and everyone loses power. This happened four times, three of which were in the early hours so we had to wait until a respectable hour before calling the owners to turn it back on. By a process of elimination the offending caravan was identified as there was no problem after they left. It’s a good walking area and in theory walks are possible from site . Alas most are overgrown and signage disappears, so we ended up using the car to reach better options. Pleasant walk into Longridge where good bus services are available to Preston (every 10 minutes weekdays), Blackburn and Clitheroe. We would return.
