Our first time of visiting Salisbury, and we were lucky to find this lovely base from which to explore. A spacious and well tended field, with picturesque views of Salisbury Plain.
Access to the site was easy, just next to a garage and down the same short lane that leads to the main C&MC site. Refuse bins, fresh water supply, grey water disposal and chemical disposal were all clean and well organised - there was even a box of books available to borrow, as well as laminated local walks.
Vanessa was welcoming and helpful when needed, but otherwise just left us to enjoy our break.
There's a bus stop 3 minutes walk from the site, with a number of buses to and from Salisbury each day - they take a circuitous route through secluded villages, but at least you get to see some of the local countryside on your way! Salisbury itself was cold in mid-January, but there were lots of warm coffee shops and pubs to try, and a wide range of shops - plus a market on Saturday and, of course, the beautiful cathedral.
There's a super short half hour dog walk accessible from the site, or far longer walks that take you to nearby villages.
The TV signal was strong, as were both Vodafone and Three signals.
There is some slight noise from the nearby main road, but it didn't disturb us at all.
Overall we were delighted with our choice and wouldn't hesitate to return.
