The site is easy to get to at the end of a single track dead end road with plenty of places to pass and very few vehicles along it. The orchard setting is lovely and you can park up where it suits you. The toilet and shower (£1 for 7 minutes) were very good and clean (there were some spiders but it's the countryside so I expected them). Sarah was very friendly and left us to our own devices which was great. I will definitely return.
What a lovely place
What a lovely place, you won’t see anyone unless you need to. You can practically pitch where you like the grass was cut nice, a very quiet site at the end of a lane I see some have commented on the fact it is a long lane with little passing places, in 4 days of coming and going I did not see any other vehicles along the lane. This truly is a gem if your after peace and quiet with easy access to surrounding places of interest, you may experience a bit of noise from the flying club on there take off as they have a runway further down the lane but again it lasts for a minute or two so nothing to write home about. There is fresh water stand pipes and rubbish bins provided, the chemical waste is down a man hole beside the toilet block, which has a wash basin and separate toilet and shower. The shower is pay as you go coin box system so make sure you have some £1 coins with you, the only downside to this lovely shower block is it’s not cleaned often enough meaning I would have to accompany my wife to the toilet shower block to remove the spiders, such a shame because it has clearly cost a fare amount of money to build it to this standard and just needs a daily bit of TLC that said I would not let this stop me from returning to this site it really is a gem and I’m sure I will be back in the near future again and again.
3 nights in August
A lovely place to stay but l would put in postcode of Crowfield Airfield if a first visit, the postcode took me to a track, which l followed until l realised it was not the right location. The site is at the end of a mile road, rather than atrack.
I think the intention is to leave you to your own devices, park where you wish. There was no reply from the house or phone when l was looking to ‘register’. Thankfully another camper had arrived and knew the score.
The toilet block was perfectly sufficient, £1 for 7 minutes in the shower but do take your own toilet toll and hand wash in with you. I’m not sure how frequently the spiders webs are brushed away.
I was surprised to find the night rate had increased to £20 but no mention of this in the email confirmation and the Caravan and Motorhome Club, of which it is a CL site for, still has it listed at £15. Apparently the take a long time to update?!

Peaceful site
We stayed at Home Farm for two nights in September 2019. It is a long single track road to access the site, but we didn't have any problems towing our caravan. We were told we could pitch up wherever we liked, so decided on a spot between an apple and a plum tree! The owner was happy for us to help ourselves to apples and plums, although sadly the walnuts were not ready to harvest.
Site was relatively level, although it might be tricky after several days of rain. The toilet/shower block was fine, although a bit rustic and you sometimes had to share with a friendly spider or two. Fresh water and rubbish recycling was easily accessible. The Elsan point is maybe not for the squeamish as you had to open a trap and empty directly into the cesspit, but to be honest you are only there for a couple of minutes every few days.
This is a really peaceful site with hardly any sound during the day or night. There are plenty of walks around the site, particularly if you have dogs to walk. There is a small airfield nearby which you can walk round and watch the aircraft coming and going. We thought the site was excellent value at £12.00 and would be happy to return.
August 2012
Site set in a 2-acre orchard on a farm at the end of a 1-mile single track lane - lane quite narrow and has considerable distances between passing places, which could be tricky as the lane is used by farm traffic and lorries.
Setting is beautifully peaceful and there's plenty of room between units. Lots of interesting places to visit all within 40 mins drive.
Downsides are that the grass didn't seem to be cut very often and was long when we visited. Site has a modern shower/toilet block but unfortunately not kept clean.
