As good as last time we were here.

As the title of the review suggests, this was our second time here. Nothing has changed since our last visit about ten years ago and that suited us just fine. The CL field is very large so that no one has to park too close to the van next door but they are close enough to be able to start up conversations with the neighbours. Good access to the many North Cornwall attractions which are numerous. Some great beaches which are also dog friendly. There is another big field next to the CL which has a five or six caravans on but they didn’t seem to be occupied very much. It offered a nice area to wander around with the dogs without having to go out onto the local roads which are quite narrow. There is a pub in the village which looked quite busy most nights. We were blessed with good weather over our ten night stay so that was a bonus. Mr Rees is a lovely man who made us feel welcome. We would highly recommend this site.

Quiet and peaceful CL

Nice sized field for five vans. £17 per night (Easter) albeit price was about to rise 'to cover increased electricity costs'. All grass pitches, some sloping (we needed our large levellers) and the grass could have done with a cut. However, very quiet and peaceful. Only one toilet on site which was in the same room as the only shower (60p). These were functional and clean, however, they were advertised as 'exclusive use for CL' and other fields on the farm had vans in them and these campers also used the same facilities.

Peaceful spacious site.

Situated roughly 3 ml off the A39 north of Wadebride just past the village of Chapel Amble the site lies within a large tree enclosed paddock well beyond the farmhouse. There is plenty of room for 5 units, is very well sheltered but has no views. There are a number of other fields on the farm, separated from the CL, that accommodate units both with and without EHU. Adjacent to the farmhouse is a toilet, shower and washing machine, although quite a walk from the pitches, and we didn't bother using them. There are also a couple of holiday properties for rent at the farm. The lane past the farm was quiet and suitable for walking ones dog and although there were a couple of footpaths close by conditions under foot prevented us from exploring them. There is a pub in the village a short walk from the site that served food. Wadebridge has an Aldi, Lidl and a Tesco with fuel. There are a plenty of places to visit in the vicinity such as Padstow, St Agnes and Pencarrow House. Good easy cycling can be done on the Camel Trail, either way from Wadebridge. Wouldn't hesitate to use the site again as it appeared to dry quickly after heavy rain.

Lovely quiet site near Wadebridge and the North Cornwall coast

We were attending the nearby Creation Fest and needed to stay near Wadebridge. It’s a lovely quiet, large paddock with plenty of room. No distant views, but surrounded by trees, so very sheltered. Electric hook up, water and chemical toilet emptying in the field and there is a toilet, shower, washing machine and drier a field away, next to the entrance to the farm. There’s a good pub in the nearby village and a post office for basic supplies. It’s worth noting that the directions in the 2019 handbook listing are incomplete. Travelling from the East/Camelford, follow the second signpost right to Chapel Amble, not the first. Travelling from the West/Wadebridge, take the first signpost left to Chapel Amble.

Excellent situation for seeing the the North coast and Wadebridge area.

We stayed here for just over two weeks. A good quiet site generally. Surrounded by trees so no views from site. Quite expensive at £19pn. Most expensive cl we have ever stayed on. The shower/toilet facility is shared with other camping fields for non-club members on site. More than one shower & toilet are really necessary to cater for everyone. Separate toilet from shower would be better too. Washing machines and dryers with honesty box were quite useful during our stay. Recycling and water etc easy although also shared by all others on site so often full and overflowing, even though emptied regularly. Phillip the owner and his family were very friendly and helpful. We visited lots of places from Tintagel, Port Isaac, Polzeath, and lots of lovely little beaches the other side of Padstow. As NT members we could park at various locations and car parks free. A definite advantage as parking is a minimum £5 or more generally per day at popular locations. Walking at Park Head to Bedruthan Steps and Trevose Head, and so many beautiful beaches and walks along this stunning coastline.

Spacious and peaceful

We spent 4 nights on this site early June and were impressed with how spacious the site is. As motorhomers we prefer to walk everywhere from the site and the village with shop and pub were easily accessible. The first public footpaths we attempted to go further afield were completely overgrown and impassable, but we eventually found one and walked to Wadebridge. A lovely peaceful site, surrounded by mature trees which protected us from the strong wind prevalent during our stay.

Beautiful peaceful location

This is a really lovelly site. Very quiet, spacious and a very friendly welcome. A good point is the approach road is not too bad at all for Cornish side roads and only a short distance from the main road. I think some of the reviews are a bit harsh about the facilities. True there is only one shower and toilet but it's nice clean and tidy. It's an honesty box for the shower which is much better than rushing out to put more 20p coins in to get the hot water back in and remember it is a CL not a club site. All in all a great site , fair value and I will be going again. Only one very small point, I wish the grass trimmings were collected , they end up all over the caravan and you have to hoover a Couple of times a day. Jan Southport

Nice but expensive

This is a nice site and is well run. However, as another comment says, the single combined toilet and shower are shared with others campers and caravans not on the CL and is thus over-subscribed. The site description in the club directory needs to make this clear. This is also the most expensive CL we have ever stayed on but unfortunately because of the above the facilities provided do not justify this charge.

Love it - but it's an acquired taste!

Love the peace & tranquillity, wonderful amount of space & no need for near neighbours. We have been visiting for years & like the relaxed atmosphere that prevails. Only criticism is the shower/toilet facility - it could do with up-dating & as there are other camping fields for non-club members on site, more than one shower & toilet are really necessary to cater for everyone. That said, we'll be back next year!
