Our first visit to this site, a very pleasing experience a quite site with excellent wooded dog and farm walks around the farm. In the information shed you're find maps and information of the local area, Vince is very friendly and a mine of information on the local area.

A superb Lincolnshire CL.

Hunger Hill is situated just off the A18 (Riby Crossroads) within easy travelling distance of the seaside resort of Cleethorpes and a range of other Lincolnshire treasures. The site is easy to get to and easy to get set up on. All 5 hardstandings are large in size and level. Surrounding all pitches are good sized areas of grass - some are far enough away from caravans to allow children to play and run around. At the far end of the CL site (away from the road) is a fenced off pond that is well stocked with fish. Visitors are welcomed to sit around the pond and enjoy the views of the countryside/woods or alternatively they can actually feed the fish (you will need to provide the fish food!) On the right hand side of the site (if stood at the entrance on the way in) there is a wooded area. It is marked up as a dog walk, however the owners have created a range of maps showing a number of walks that go around the woods/along their farmland that surrounds the CL site. Near to the entrance is a visitors car park. It is also here that you find the well laid out waste points for both solid and liquid waste, together with easy access to fresh drinking water. The final find of the site is the "hut." Visually nothing more than a garden shed, inside is a range of materials to loan (donation to charity welcomed) including books and DVDs. The owners have put together a range of folders that help non-locals find a range of attractions, take aways and other useful detail whilst staying at Hunger Hill. It is also the home of the free WiFi hub. It is good WiFi, however we did find that in the evening our pitch away from the hut had slower connection speeds than it did at other times. The hut also has a board outside it informing visitors of other details, including the time a local baker's van with sandwiches and other food stuffs will visit (Mon-Fri) Final points - the owners are lovely people. They wander around the site each day and will happily chat to you if you wish to. Otherwise they'll just check all is well and leave you to your day. Claire and Vinny (the owners) were full of knowledge about the area and very willing to help when we needed it. We certainly will keep returning to this CL site.

Christmas Visit

This was the a great site for us to use over the Christmas period. It has large flat well spaced H/S pitches with views over the countryside towards the end of the Lincolnshire Wolds. The woods behind the site are perfect for walking ones dog, and there are also longer walks around the farm's fields with a guide to them available in the well stocked information cabin. The site has a wide entrance and is easily being accessed being about 1/2ml from A18. There is a Morrisons about 4 mls away for fuel and supplies. We did not notice any noticeable traffic noise and were well entertained by the all the birds that frequented the well supplied feeding stations beside the pitches. Although the site does not have a toilet this was no problem for us, and the free WiFi was an added bonus. We will not hesitate to use this site again when we visit this area again as there are still plenty of places within easy reach which we did not have time to see.

Excellent site.

This site is well worth a visit.  A very well tended site with five good pitches, well spaced apart. There are a couple of picnic benches to be used and a shed with all the local info you need and books etc to borrow.  There is a woodland area to walk your dogs or just to have a walk. We booked in advance and sent a check for payment so didn't need to see anyone but the owner did come to make sure all was o.k.   All amenities are catered for - even wifi - but there is no toilet.  We will use this site again for sure.

Nice site

Well laid out site with 5 hard standings. The info hut was well stocked. We had a lovely walk through the woods and came across a great climbing frame for children to play on. We didn't have any problem with the wifi. We found it noisy with road noise and helicopters. Unfortunately we were not welcomed by anyone and had to search for someone to pay! If we were in the area again we would stay here.

Second time there !

On our recent second visit to Hungerhill second week in July '15 we had a superb 7 night stay. Claire and Vin were away on hols (CL' ing it !) but we were made equally welcome by Claire's Mum and Dad. Everything nice and constructive that I could add has been said already by other members so I won't go on at length other than to say Brilliant site, Lovely Hosts, keep up the good work and members keep using this site - you will enjoy it !

One of the Best

extremely large hard standing pitches.Well kept lawned area around pitches with seating and tables. There is a fenced off pond with seating. There is no fishing, but it's really nice to watch the big fish swimming round. The very large wood at the side of the site is lovely to walk in. Vin and Charlotte have cut out miles of footpaths around the surrounding fields. (Footpath maps in the shed on site). Their free range eggs are lovely.   Overall a very peaceful, well kept site, Run by 2 very nice people who understand caravanning. Wi-fi can be a bit hit n miss at times.  i can see why people think this is one of the best sites around. will definitely be returning to this site.

Lovely CL

We cannot add much to what has already been said except that we endorse the previous comments. We visited at the beginning of May and the site is immaculate and attractive, and each pitch is very spacious. The owners we found to be very friendly and helpful. The information hut is packed with just that - lots of information, about the area, things to do, places to eat, walks etc etc! The only slight thing against is a recycling unit along the road which was working one day and because the wind was obviously in the wrong direction, the smell drifted over the cl. It only happened once and didn't affect us too much. I believe that site is due to close sometime. Other than that our stay was very pleasant and if we were in the area again we would not hesitate to go back.

We've enjoyed our stay

With sadness, we're all set to leave tomorrow after spending seven days and nights at this lovely site. The site itself is immaculately kept.  The abundance of information is excellent.  The owners are lovely people, can't do enough for you.  They took our grandchildren to feed the fish in their lake and then took them along to feed the chickens. The boys came back with warm, newly laid eggs for breakfast. There is a children's play area in the wood at the back of the site along with lovely walks through the wood and the farm across the road.  A hidden gem within the woods are the wild orchids - a sight to be seen. A bakery van comes every lunchtime during the week and has hot and cold food to buy. We would definitely come back.  Keep up the good work Vergette family.  Thank you.

Immaculate site, a gem.

Just had a five day break at this immaculate site.  A credit to the owner, everything is well laid out, very good information hut with excellent instructions for a walk around the farm.  The wooded dog walk is a paradise for four legged friends. The site is fairly close to a main road and opposite a working farm so there is some noise but certainly not obtrusive.  Also there is the occasional helicopter heading back and for from the nearby airport, again not enough to cause a problem and only in the day time. Should we return to this area we would not hesitate in booking this site again, one of the best Cl's we have visited in over 30 years of caravanning
