Not as good as other reviewers said it was.

Just spent 5 nights here and wonder if we've been to a different Hurries Farm to everyone else! On arrival-typical farm no one about! So we used our iniative and went looking for a pitch which are hard to see as they are so full of grass & weeds it was difficult to work out where the hard standing ends and the grass begins. The grass needed cutting and you need levelling blocks. Eventually met the owner in evening and he was friendly enough, but his dogs aren't . They do a lot of barking from early morning and late at night, and at one point one of his dogs was jumping up the side of our van trying to get at our dogs, which he thought was funny but it didn't amuse us! And he lets his dogs chase the 2 Rheas in a field next to the CL which we found upsetting. And when the owner was in the CL he allowed his dogs to run free and in my opinion I don't think that they are the friendliest dogs you might encounter! As for the views mentioned in the club handbook, you get to look at the back of the farmhouse and a couple of cattle and sheep fields,as the CL is in a dip that's the limit of the views. When you empty your toilet cassette,be careful where you walk as there was dog poo in the grass near the emptying point. By the way there is no tap to use to rinse out the toilet cassette. On the second night of our stay we had SIX pitches in use on a FIVE pitch CL.There are 3 other CLs within 5 miles. Draw your own conclusions! This is the third CL we have used this year which have had more than 5 units on,one even had 7! It puts us off using CLs. It wasn't all bad, there was a lovely couple on the next pitch to us who's company we really enjoyed. You know who you are! Would we recommend this CL.? NO Would we use it again? Definetly NO!đź‘Ž

Eee bye eck

What a wonderful site! The owners, David and Wendy, are a lovely couple, and made us feel very welcome. They are so friendly, and the site is great. The photo makes it look smaller than it is, but it has a very welcoming, friendly feel about it, and it is in a great location for walking in the area. David took me out for a run round when he went to check on the stock, and It was thoroughly enjoyable to accompany him and learn from his experience. The scenery and walking in the location is fantastic. Obviously, it is a working farm, so don't expect a lie in, which you don't need anyway, there is so much to do here. One of the best CL's we have stayed on!

Gem of a site, extremely friendly & welcoming hosts

Just had 9 nights at Hurries Farm, you couldn’t find a more tranquil and peaceful site. David gave us a tour of the farm on his buggy ,feeding the Aberdeen Angus cows and sheep. Fresh free range eggs were available daily & also meat packs available. We were made extremely welcome by David & Wendy , such friendly people and cannot wait to return. The area in the surrounding North Yorkshire National Park is simply stunning with lots of nice walks to do . Malham is gorgeous, as are the surrounding villages all within a short distance of Hurries Farm . Thankyou David & Wendy in allowing us to stay , in the nicest CL we have experienced.

Good cl

We have just had 5 nights at Hurries Farm & have to say we enjoyed it very much. David & Wendy made us very welcome, telling us all about their farm (David gave us a tour on his buggy). There was no-one about when we arrived & as we were the only unit, we pitched up where we wanted. The pitches are a good size & all hard standing with a good area of grass at the side. We pitched at the higher side of the site so the tv reception was ok but the signal would probably not be so good lower down near the steam. The water tap & the cdp are in the farm yard. The toilet (spotlessly clean) is also in the farm yard. Bought some steaks from David's Aberdeen Angus stock & very tasty they were too. David & Wendy gave us plenty of tips on how to get to different places & where to eat etc. The site is in a lovely setting in the bottom of a small valley with a steam at the side. There are no pubs or shops within walking distance except a farm shop /cafe about one & a half miles away. You can also buy newspapers here. All in all, a lovely cl & lovely site owners. Would highly recommend this site

Lovely Site

We have just returned from a weekend break at this site and it was wonderful. We arrived on Friday night and the weather was dreadful we were met and shown to our pitch and offered flash lights to help us set up poor Mr Wellock was getting soaked but was still cheerful. On Saturday we realised what a little gem this working farm was the surrounding countryside was breathtaking cows in the barn sheep on the hills and Ostrich in the field. From making the booking over the telephone arriving and leaving nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely return to this site it is central for Skipton, Malaham Three Peaks and surrounding countryside. Thank you very much for a lovely stay we will be back soon

Visit to Malham

We have just spent three excellent nights at Hurries Farm. Warm welcome, peaceful site with good facilities and we really enjoyed walks from the site to Malham Cove and to Gargrave along the Pennine Way. We would thoroughly recommend this site. Thank you to David and Wendy.

This site is a little gem

This tranquil site is set on a working farm in the glorious Yorkshire dales, the winding lanes are narrow but you soon get used to them and we had no issues entering the farm. Just used common sense and a reasonable amount of care. David and Wendy were very friendly and made us feel most welcome. TV reception is not good but as this was a return visit we knew to take a satellite dish and dvds. Our previous visit to Hurries farm was during the lambing season, lots of aahhhs, this time sheep shearing - the lads made it look so easy. Being a fan of working farms we were delighted to be given the buggy tour. Loved watching the 'rat pack', David's expression, dash up to the rhea pen on a daily basis for the egg hunt. The collie puppies doing their best to keep up. A large variety of walks in the area from exploring around Malham and Ingleton to less energetic walking along the Leeds- Liverpool canal. We were lucky enough to see the Flying Scotsman cross the Ribblehead viaduct. Would have no hesitation in recommending this CL site, in fact we had such a good time that we extended our stay by a couple of days.

A warm Yorkshire welcome!

We left Hurries Farm a few days ago, after eight memorable days there. You couldn't ask for a quieter and more peaceful CL, and you couldn't ask for a warmer welcome than we received from David and Wendy and their animals - including Charlotte, a pet lamb, and three amusing rheas - yes, rheas - in the adjoining paddock. There is wonderful walking around, including the Three Peaks not far away, some delightful villages, and all town facilities in nearby Skipton. We hope we may go back some time in the future.
