Not quite as expected

I read all the reviews on this site before I booked. As previously mentioned, the site does not appear to be as big as is advertised (3.5 acres). We also did not find it a quiet site as you can hear the motorway in the distance and also the trains which we also heard throughout the night. To the left of the site is an area with stored caravans and motorhomes which were visited by owners whilst we were there and also the river is only just visible and the pylons do spoil the view a little. On arrival we found dog mess where we were going to pitch so moved to avoid treading it into the van but soon found out that the owners allow their dogs to mess on the site and did not pick it up, or at least didn't whilst we were there. We were not aware of the toilets and only noticed they were available when logging in to leave this review. Saying all this, the site is in a good location when travelling to or from Wales and is qood value at £6 a night (not £5 as in the book or on the website)

Nice peaceful location

Easy to find with good access. Friendly laid back owners. We have used this site 3 times so far as it breaks the journey going to Wales and back home again. The grounds of the campsite are beautifully kept and it is so peaceful with distant views of both bridges crossing the Severn.

Best value anywhere

We regularly use this site. Its always immaculate, access through the farm is good. The area has some wonderful sights. Tintern, Forest of Dean, Chepstow Races. Walking distance is local pub. Other good walks from the site. Best CL value in the UK and we should know, we use them almost exclusively.

Lovely quiet and reasonably priced CL

A lovely place, walks nearby and handy to access the Wye Valley.  We have a motorhome and had made enquiries regarding hardstanding as it is easy to get stuck if it rains.  Everything we required was available.  Note to the other reviewer, if you follow the Wales Coastal path to the left when exiting the CL, you will find the estuary - it's all clearly signed and doesn't take that long.  We hope to return soon.

A nice quiet site

Have just returned from a weekend at this cl, it is set in a very pleasant location with views of the Severn Estuary and the old Severn Bridge. One disappointment was that the site is stated as being 3.5 acres when it is actually very much smaller. Having said that there was enough room for the five rigs that were there. There is a warm welcome from the owner. There seems to be no direct walking access to the estuary as there is a railway line in the way with padlocked gates. One other point is to take levelling blocks as the site has limited flat grass areas. Overall very nice.
