This CL is in a brilliant location. The site is in a really tranquil setting whilst still being handy for visiting the local town, Bethesda, for shopping etc. The pitches are quite spacious, but our caravan needed quite a bit of levelling up as we were on a bit of a slope and the ground was a bit soggy. We visited in March and had the most glorious weather, cold but sunny with clear blue skies and judging from the reviews regarding midges I'm glad we came then rather than later in the season as we weren't bothered by any whatsoever. We also visited Zipworld, which is a short walk from the site and it was fascinating watching people hurtle down the wires though wouldn't be tempted to do this myself, and couldn't if I wanted to as they were booked up 3 months in advance! The site is also very convenient for visiting all the joys of Snowdonia and we had a lovely walk from Llyn Ogwen through Cwm Idwal, well worth the effort and not too taxing for us oldies! As other reviewers have said, the site also has lovely woodland walks to a pond with ducks and other waterfowl. One of the ducks visited our caravan every day for titbits! The toilet is also an added bonus as it meant we didn't have to empty the chemical toilet so often! All in all a fab break and would definitely visit "The Joys of Life" again.
