Very nice location

We stayed here for four nights in our motorhome early in March 2017. We received a warm welcome & an information pack about the local area. It is the most northerly CL on the UK mainland. The sea with great views & seals is about 50 or so metres away. The Castle of Mey is visible from all pitches & the CL very handy for a host of interesting locations. I have no problem in highly recommending a stay here.

Basic but very handy for the Castle of Mey and the Orkney ferry

We stayed here on our way back from the Orkneys, it was just a few miles for the Gills Bay ferry. Just a basic CL with no electric, set in a large flat garden. It's main attraction is it's closeness to the Castle of Mey - you can walk there in about half an hour via the back way, though the weather was pretty grim when we visited so we took the motorhome. The owner was very friendly and gave us lots of information. Parking for motorhomes at the castle is alongside the reception building on the road in - check opening dates as it had only just opened when we went in late May.

A little gem of a CL

We spent a relaxed week here in June 2015. There was a warm welcome on arrival and the owners are very informative about local attractions. We had views all round and there are places of interest within walking distance (Castle of Mey about 1 mile) with seals at a nearby harbour. The free range eggs which are for sale are delicious! Would definitely return to this site.

A fabulous CL

We spent a wonderful couple of days here and were blessed with gorgeous weather. A really friendly and helpful family, even providing a map of the highlights of the area. We were entertained by the hens and ducks, and their eggs were very tasty. The views from the site are terrific, Dunnet Head in one direction and Mey Castle in the other. Wonderful cycling on quiet lanes (we visited Dunnet Head), and fabulous walks. The coastline is beautiful and there are seals nearby. Will definitely return to this little gem of a CL.

An excellent reception!!

My wife and I and our adult daughter stayed overnight at Kittiwake. It was well past dark on a cold January night and we were having difficulty locating the site. So we rang the operators and they very kindly sent a young man out into the dark and cold wearing a highly reflective jacket and torch. He walked a considerable distance to the entrance road and waited for us to arrive. We couldn't have asked for more. Kittiwake is ideal for and overnight stay if travelling on to the Orkneys as it is very close to the Gills Bay ferry terminal. Definitely recommend this site. Thank you.
