Excellent CL

We had a 5 night stay in July and found this to be a very quiet and well manicured site which suits us perfectly. Easy access from Motorway and easy to get to park and ride for beautiful Chester too. Would definitely stay here again.

A very useful site

We have been members of the club for over 35 years, and used CLs extensively. This is just the sort of site that we like - quiet and secluded. It is well sheltered - indeed the view might be improved if part of one of the hedges was reduced in height slightly. It has all the essentials - good water supply and electrics, level and with easy access and two hard standings. It is clean and the grass nicely cut.The toilet emptying point is very good, and waste bins are available. Like most CLs that are not next to the owners house you are left to site yourself, but who objects to that? There are plenty of notices around explaining how to contact the owners - who are helpful and very pleasant and are around the site most days, though they do not bother you. We have visited the site at least five times in the past 2/3 years, and will certainly be using it again - our grandson and family live not far away. Normally on a CL you see the owners a maximum of twice - once on arrival if they live near, and once to pay. Even the latter is not always needed here, as there are clear instructions on what to do if the owners are not around. Even has the great advantage for the Chester area that when you do reach the main road access is traffic light controlled - bliss!

Perfect for Town or Country.

We have been caravanning for well over 30 years and believe me this is an excellent site. Nicely mown grass with the choice of grass or hard standing with all pitches pretty level. The owners were very friendly and interesting to chat with. A good class pub is a few hundred yards away and a shop just few yards further. We went for some lovely walks and Chester has numerous great attractions including the roman city itself and the Zoo. We have relations living on the outskirts of the city and travelling to see them was easy. A park and ride near their home made trips to the city stress free. The site is quiet and secluded just as we like. We had perfect TV reception (although others did find some of the lovely old trees could screen the signal). There are plenty of electric points and the usual CL facilities are available. The site was full for part of our stay but there was more than enough room. This site is a great asset to the area and if you want to visit Chester or its surrounds I can thoroughly recommend it.

A Hidden Gem Near Chester

We are seasoned caravaners and have stayed at CL's sites for the past 30 years. This site is a little gem. We have a twin axle caravan towed by a Vaxuhall Vivara making it a long unit and had no trouble entering the site and parking. We have stayed here two time and the last was over Christmas. The owners are helpful only a phone call away. They respect your privacy and leave you alone. The site is 100 meters from a Pub/Restaurant and a Garage with a Subway Shop, cash machine, mini-market with all the basic needs. It took us 15 minuets to get to our son who lives in the Center of Chester. You look out over beautiful farm lands and there is plenty of good walks for our two dogs. On are first stay we shared the site with Two large Motor homes and a small one plus one caravan with plenty of space for all. We were told by the Irish Motor homers this was an excellent stop off for the crossing to Ireland. We shall be staying again in September for my new Grandson's Christening. All this for £10/night...excellent value. This is what CL camping is all about, Quite, secluded, hard-standing, electric, excellent value for money. I believe the longer you belong to the club the more you will appreciate a CL near to Urban Conurbations. Thank You Mr & Mrs Johnson for doing this great service to the club.
